Paul's not such a bad guy -- he's a Prince fan too. Saw him at the Reno show last year. He's not quite my style, but I do respect him as a songwriter.

After what Janet pulled last year, could you image what would have happened to the poor fool that suggested a Prince Halftime show for the next Superbowl.

confuse What does this mean, "based on nothing"? His music is the basis for much of what has come out of popular music in the past 40 years.

sometimes the ignorance of prince fans is staggering....

no beatles no raspberry beret, no starfish and coffee, no take me with you etc....

prince would have probably done the same show...sing a couple of hits..end with purple rain..

After seeing the boring ass show, I think anyone could have done a better job. Paul sounded great, but the show was for the over 50 crowd. I was hoping that he would have a few dancers or pyro or something. The coolest thing about his show was the stage. neutral

Paul is a living legend...much like Prince. Gotta respect him, regardless of a Super Bowl setting.

Don't get me wrong, I respect Paul as an artist, performer and writer. He sounds great live, but his show was pretty weak compared 2 what I have seen on his concert DVDs.

That may be true, but I see him doing Kiss, Sign O The Times and Purple Rain (maybe Little Red Corvette).

Prince wouldn't have done much more than his performance on last year's Grammy's. Not too different than what Paul did for the Superbowl; dust out a few of his greatest hits, sing live, and play an instrument or two. They're both still better than what we're used to seeing for Superbowl shows or awards shows.

It wasn't the most visually exciting of performances, but I'd still rather hear someone sing on key and play an instrument than see T&A and lipsynching.

How can you hate paul. I mean, I really take exception to that. He's a beautiful man.....anyone with the avatar you have should not have any ill will towards paul. God bless Paul Mccartney.

I couldn't believe they had McCArtney. Not knocking him and it was nice to reminice a bit, but I thought they would get someone a little more.... errr, current .
I guess we have Janet Jackson and the "Christian Right wing" to thank for this.

Dayum, now THAT would be super cool since I live in Detroit. Let me see if I can put a bug in Kwame Kilpatrick's ear. He would probably prefer 50 cent or somebody like that since he is rolls like a "gansta" mayor. lol

Blame who ya want, but it was still wrong, as were several of the SuperBowl commercials -- it's definitely not a family show anymore. But what on TV is family-friendly anymore. Everything's shit, ain't it? No thanks to those who prefer to eat it... constantly.
