What's strange is that Prince is not effeminate to me.

He wears make-up, heels, and sometimes curly bouffants. Yet, Prince's presence remains strongly masculine ...he can't dilute it.

When Prince walks into a room, his aura is strong, commanding, powerful. It's not soft and demure.

How does he do that? How does he maintain his masculinity with all the get-ups, with all those pouts, on-the-floor writhings, and tantrums?

It's beyond me. I don't know who else could do it. (MJ and Little Richard can't) But Prince is a bad-ass damned masculine muthafucka!

I completely agree biggrin i think Prince is very masculine even when he uses lots of make-up and heels.
I was thinking about Dave Navarro, not that's similar to prince, but he also uses make-up and i think him to be very attractive, sexy and masculine razz

Firstly, Alicia Keys is not gay. Just because she chooses not to include the rest of the world in her relationship like other superstars do does not give anyone the right to start dissing her like this. cool

Secondly, everyone, including Alicia, is entitled to their own opinion. biggrin

Thirdly, Alicia Keys is an incredible musician with an incredible amount of talent. Ashanti, Beyonce, and all the other crap thats around don't have anything on her. If you were all musicians u would see this but ur not so you don't have the right to say anything. mad

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion! smile

Let's see: We don't have the right to say anything but we are entitled to our own opinion?

lol Right. AND we can't have any opinions on her music because we are not musicians.

Well I could never marry Alicia Keys because I wouldn't like to walk down the street with a dumb ass bitch with a can the size of Idaho! eek Of course who says Alicia Keys would even look at me. But, if she would.....

Comments like this remind me that people like Alicia Keys don't understand Prince fully. They may love the hits, but when it comes to the fact that he is who he is because he's detached from what we call the real world she'll never get it.

You shouldn't let it bother you how she feels. But, I'd marry her fine ass in a heartbeat. And there's nothing wrong with the size of her can. More ass the more merrier.

thank u so much 4 that wyld1! As much as eye tire of her singing voice, that is still a beautiful woman. And the "can" is beautiful 2 wink . When eye saw the "Karma" video, eye couldn't stop staring a her legs or oth...other parts razz !

P.S. in the "Karma" video, isn't that the purple piano that P owned in his Marbella home?

This is in response 2 Alicia Keys comment: Prince is not afraid 2 express
who he is as an artist which is makes him who he is.... I think that is what makes us really "dig him". So saying that Alicia Keys does"nt truly understand
Prince. It's not about the eyeliner or makeup but what defines U..... I wear a funky hairstyle and have a piercing on my bottom lip and that's who Jmi izzzzz! Case and point! ain't afraid 2 be living Uptown!

Silly fanatics. First off, she's already acknowledged how much she admires Prince's talent and how he has influenced her. That should be enough. She's been with the same dude in her Crucial Keys production team for a few years now. So what if she doesn't want an efeminate man. That makes her gay? If anything, I would think that women that desire efeminate men may harbor latent homosexual desires for women but may be afraid to act on them. Its silly to think that every woman only wants short, skinny, pretty boys. You guys crack me up sometimes.

Why didn't anyone give me the cue now that we're switching roles and dissing Prince? mad

No need to go all out and start talking about him and/or men like him.

Yeah, it's enough that she admires him, yes.
No, it's not cool to say that if someone thinks that "efeminate men" are attractive that they may be homo's.
So since I think that Prince (who is somewhat efeminate) is attractive, you saying I'm gay? (Oh, yes, women can't be gay. It's called lesbian. ) so you saying I'm a lesbian or bi?

Someone should have told me that I was going to become angry so I would have been prepared for this...

WTF?!?!?

Get a grip. The chick don't want to share her damn eyeliner with the man she's boinking. That don't mean she's got "issues"...and it's no reason to start hating on her.

That's not the point. The point is there is no need to start denouncing someone's attractiveness right after you've praised his artistic skills. In private discussions like this are perfectly okay since it's all about preferences - everybody does it. However in public situations it's a whole different deal. And there is always the option of keeping your mouth shut.

Keys Needs A Manly Man
(Soundbuzz, Wednesday February 2)

R&B beauty Alicia Keys cites Prince as one of her idols because he's "not afraid of his masculinity". However, she warns potential suitors she'll never date a man who wears make-up. The singer encourages men to follow Prince's example and physically express themselves in a unique style. However, she regrets she could never be attracted to a man who fully embraces his feminine qualities. She says, "I love Prince - he's not afraid of being crazy. He's not afraid of his masculinity. "I think guys should do whatever they want to do. Now, do I want a guy who wears make-up? I don't know if I would like to walk down the street with my man wearing eye-liner. I might feel a little strange about that." (wenn)

I wouldn't marry P either and not cause of a little makeup. He's just too damn sexy. However Alicia if ya readin' I admire a man whose not afraid to express himself and the way P does. I love a man who wears heels and can still walk with a pimp (ole skool word). His style shows he not afraid to love nor b loved. GET SOME!!

[Flame snip - luv4u] Alicia didn't say nothin negative about Prince. All she said was she personally wouldn't walk down the street with a man that wears make up and another thing there are plenty of women that don't want Prince. I love Prince like the next orger and I believe Alicia does too, but everytime somebody says something you don't like you hit the f**ing roof.

Alicia Keys is doin' her thing whether you think she is a talented artist or a no talent, non-singing ho. Who gives a shit about folks who couldn't be the dirt off the bottom of her feet. [Flame snip - luv4u]

Prince and Dave Navarro. Now there's a sammich I'd like to be the meat in. razz

But, in regards to Alicia Keyes, I don't see where she was insulting Prince. It's just her preference. So what? Plus I'd really like to be able to see what questions she was asked in that interview. I'm sure her comments were taken totally out of context.

Girl, I've heard it all. I really don't think anything can shock me anymore. I think the latest thing that shocked the hell out of me was people that got turned on by SPORKS. Those are those spoon/forks that they give you at KFC and stuff. Some woman wrote about how just the fact that she had one in her purse really turned her on. WTF.
