Image lives on There was a news report about new inventions being offered for patent.
They had a pair of jeans with multiple zippers on the back of it. The reporters says: these look like they were made by Prince. He'll always have that image following him in people's mind, even after he's gone, unfortunately. | |

My point was that with all his brilliant musicianship, songs, performances and new

It's the "Now that he's a jehova's witness..." comments you hear in the media that make me cringe. The irony of Prince is that the musicians and the hollywood elite understand--mass market media (news, radio) don't. | |

I unfortunately went on one of my Prince rants the other day. I shared the Tavis show with my cousin's girlfriend. She's into Ani DeFranco and Dave Matthews so I thought I'd show her something accoustic. She really liked it. After it was over I think I gave her a 57 minute dissertation on everything Prince. She gave me that look. I'm sure you know which one I mean. The glazed over look that people seem to give when they're thinking "oh my God is he ever going to stop, he's crazy"
When the rant was over I noticed that my face was red and I was breathing hard. What is that? Best way to turn someone on to him is to play his music WITHOUT telling people first who it is. When I do this I almost always get a positive response.
They get this look like they're in a trance, it captivates them unknowingly. I've seen it time and time again. | |
