Is Prince a nice guy?

And I ask this question specifically to those that met him. I could've had the chance to meet him myself. The only thing that stood between me and him was some damn security guards. But he's still my dog though. smile

But to those that have had the fortunate opportunity of meeting Prince, what is he like? Is he really a nice guy or is he just an arrogant, rock star asshole?

I'd love to meet him so that we can talk about how great New Wave music was, and maybe drink some chai tea.

well, the only experiences i've had with him was when he mumbled "thank you" to me at an afterparty and when he fed us pizza during a concert...he was kinda what i would expect the first time, and he was incredibly silly the other time. that's good enough for me. nod

never met the guy myself but know some who have. lol

From what I hear, he is somewhat like Michael Jackson only wanting to be around those who tell him only what he wants to hear.

My friend met him years ago at a club called "Life" in NY. (Now Closed sad ) But he hung out with him that night for a little while. They took a limo to Nells and he said that he was really quite and somewhat strange. Anyway, he asked him for his autograph so that he could put it up in his store (Manny's). Prince just basically told him when you have your own store I will give you an autograph. Then Prince just gave him one of his T-Shirts from his concert.I wish I was there that night. But my friend isn't a big P fan so that night to him wasn't a big deal.He has no idea how lucky he was that night. mad

A friend of mine (who is 19) claims to have met him standing in line at DisneyWorld when he was 12....

Basically said he seems shy and even a bit standoff-ish, but not rude.

I don't think the deep voice is genuine. He probably has a lot higher normal register for his voice but he has learnt to control it, so he lowers it down on purpose to sound more masculine (which is always a good call if you're a guy wearing mascara!). Many have observed that his voice, when he speaks, sounds like it had "several layers" on top of each other - this would hint that he is forcing his voice lower than it is and some parts, like the sibilants and the ends of the phrases, come out higher.

Yes, let's scrutiny!

His voise does sound noticably deeper in interviews than in his movies and even usually when he speaks on an album/song.

his personality seems 2 b full of contradictions and weird issues. he lives isolated in fantasy world but lately he seems 2 b more human and down 2 earth. at least in the interviews.

Cause he's probably faking it. I should know, I do the same "layer" thing just like many other naturally high-voiced guys. That's why it strikes you so unfamiliarily low, because it's not exactly him speaking without forcing his voice.

Of course, I might be wrong too.

from personal experience, he likes to hear himself talk... but i think if anyone was actually able to have the time to get to know him and vice versa then he'd probably be a pretty nice guy -- and i figure it wouldn't hurt if he knew you were at least half the musician he is

I have to disagree. There are a number of people with low speaking voices woh sing at high pitches. Mariah Carey, for one. I remember being really shocked at how low her speaking voice is. It's pretty damn low, even for a typical woman.

IMHO.
