The album might have been released somewhere in 1998 but charted and was released in America (where it debuted at number, which was a huge deal) very early (Jan 12th)in 1999, the same year she became a household name. She's just eye candy (but not MY type - I like dark haired exotics myself. Not bubblegum blondes - eww). She's basically just a lip-synching/karoake stripper. You'll never hear her singing acapella (unless she has some serious echo on or backsup vocals running simultaneously to make her voice sound more full).

Some of her music is fun and dancable but I guarantee *she* didn't write it. That would be some real artist who doesn't look like a cheap hooker and therefore wasn't qualified to become the next "American Idol".

yeah well if everyone was a Prince clone, music would be in a sorry state. There's room for all types of musicians, singers and performers. Prince should learn to shut his trap when it comes to acts that don't have the same goals or fanbase as him.

He has no need to put down other artists, though for some reason, every once in a while he obviously feels the need to.
