What if Prince toured with Sign of the Times instead of Lovesexy??

Do you think it would made any diffiernce in the commerical success of SOTT?? I saw the Loevesexy tour and it wasn't all that bad, but I think the SOTT tour would faired much better. He had the momentum in the fall of 1987 with the U got look and I could never..singles on the pop charts and Adore and Hot Thing on thr r&b charts.

I will just chalk it up to one of many Prince blunders....

Prince did tour with Sign of the Times: he did Europe. He even put one of the concerts out on video/dvd...

When i was there it started to rain and he wanted to stop because
he thought his equipment could get wet or something

sott was not a crossover u fuckin dimwit it was a nod in the direction of all the man's influences with his tilt, the crossover was purple rain which is why u yankees baulked at the experimental music that followed!! for fuck sake most of your biblebashin states tried 2 ban the cover of LOVESEXY cause the man's penis looked like a flower!! SOTT was almost 2 overreaching in its attempt 2 cover so many styles of music but the man pulled it off. It is widley considered 2 be his best album by the critics so if u dont like it then fuck

I always thought that Prince made a huge mistake by not bringing his 'SOTT' to the US.There was ALOT of momentum with that album,and alot of critics and fans were saying it was his best album yet.In addition,in the fall of 1987,singles like "U Got The Look" and "I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man" were climbing the Top 10 charts,while non-singles like "Hot Thing" and "Adore" were receiving tremendous airplay on R&B radio stations.If there was ever a right time to do a lengthy tour,this was it.
