Anyone ever got drunk and did a Prince song karaoke style? LOL

I did not too long ago!!!

I did KISS and I screamed my head off at the end.....I got a standing ovation and won 50.00!!!!

I woke up the next day with a sore throat and a GIANT ASS headache.....

This is one of my favorite hobbies. After a drink of rum for courage and to strectch my vocal cords, I'll do some Prince songs (Kiss my favorite, I'll do the scream and the splits at the same time---everyone loves it) and a couple of Lenny Kravitz songs too. It's so much fun, esp. when I bring friends who've never seen me do karaoke.

Every bar or pub I go 2.....I ALWAYS do karaoke.....and I very rarely do it drunk aswell.
I dont need 2 be drunk 2 laughed at by a group of alcoholics or sing badly.

Ive had entire Pubs jumping up and down 2 "1999".....and rapturous appluases when I spin my ass off, jump in2 tha splitz and come up posing as Prince.....and Ive had people nicknaming me Prince after I did "Kiss" at a theatre after party.

Ive also had a few funny thinigs happen 2 me during these aswell. While doin "Kiss", at the "I think i wanna dance" bit, I jumped in the air, flicked my heels 2 gether.....I was going in2 a twirl when I caught my heel with the toe of my other foot and I tripped badly and went flying off the small stage.....
.....I returned just in time 2 redeemed myself with some crotch-shriveling Splitz.....

Another time, but at the same place I sang "When Doves Cry".....I was doing the dance that Prince does in "Hot Thing" (all the shoulder and hip wigglin).....after that I twirled again, but this time I was too close 2 the mic stand.....and I thumped the mic and the stand in2 the people watching me.....

.....ahh.....Wel spose U had 2 have bin there!!

When I do Karaoke.....I iz in my own world.

Came very close one night as I was a bit lit-up~ I asked 4 the book of songs with doing a Prince tune in mind...They had "Kiss" "Little Red Corvette" etc...but seeing I was in a rare mood that night I needed something stronger more hardcore like (Head)....but no luck....there was just not enough room 2 hump the stage plus I didn't have my leg-warmers on hand.... haha, saved myself from a trip 2 jail~

I WAS SO DRUNK ONE NIGHT AND GOT UP IN A REDNECK SPORTS BAR AND SANG LITTLE RED CORVETTE.. NEVER AGAIN!!!

OH YESSS! I've done "Little Red Corvette" and "Delirious" quite a few times. At first I was rather tipsy...The most recent ones have had no alcohol influence. The stage is so much different when there's no alcohol involved. I tend to pay more attention to the audience when I'm not drinking. When I did drink, I seemed to perform for myself and didn't really pay attention to the audience. It's always been FUN though...LadyL

When I was a senior in high school (omg, 1986), and "air bands" were all the rage (YIKES!), 2 of my friends and I did Vanity 6's 'Nasty Girl' in the high school airband competition--lingerie and all! Yes, we won.....

I almost won $300 with my rendition of "Kiss"- (I can hit those high notes and I stripped off my shirt and kicked off my shoe to the "act your age, not your shoe size" part- ). The organizor of the contest said I would surely win if I showed up for the finals, but I missed them because I was at a Prince concert! I ended up getting on stage at the concert, so it was all worth it in the end! If any of you want to go out to a club during the Celebration for karaoke, let me know!

well, since you asked..

just this past Saturday night I did "When Doves Cry" at a karaoke bar.. it's a song I've done before in karaoke & I do it because the vocal key is RIGHT in my range.

I was a bit surprised by the reaction; as soon as the people there heard the opening guitar, they started jumping up & down & screaming..

Everyone knew the chorus, people were really getting into it! Goes to show you his BEST music stands the test of time & doesn't sound dated at all.

A few times I've had a SERIOUS buzz before/while doing Prince karaoke... but then, I've gotton into "trouble" as I seem to have some sort of.. difficulty in keeping my shirt on (once, I was told there was a problem with my pants zipper.. ooops!)

This place where I was Saturday night, they even have DO ME BABY as a choice for karaoke!

With the falsetto of that song (which I could PROBABLY do- indeed, if I were drunk) that would be interesting..

Damn, I'd probably get into A LOT of "trouble" with that song which leaves very little to the imagination...
