I would not call Janet an artist. I have never understood the attraction to this woman. I recently watched a concert on tv and she did a costume change every song - small wonder - it would be the only thing to hold the audiences interest - that and the sex. She sings without spirit and seems to me to be a mimic - a poor imitition of her brother. The music doesn't seem to come from her soul - or her gut - I guess I just prefer real artists - and to compare her to prince - well it just makes me cringe. Sorry Janet - I will say one thing for her - she has a beautiful smile! | |

I LOVE JANET! I would think prince fans would appreciate her considering she has carried on the Minneapolis sound legacy over the years. She really is the type of protege prince wished he could have created.
It seems like people on this forum like nobody but prince...and even rip apart prince! And I love the fact that Janet sings about sex...why not! She's hot, vibrant and funky! I WISH I coulda had Justin T. as a "sex slave" (though that was a rumor). Everybody has to free up their minds a little and stop being so judgemental.
