Seen on their homepage for a WB shirt gift idea :

It was convenient to blame WB for anything that went wrong with the release of a Prince album back in the day. But nowdays, there are still shelved albums, one album a year, setbacks, delays, etc...

Besides, if WB's ownership of those songs means Prince cant Jehova-ize them, thats cool with me.

BTW, a little bit down on that page, they refer to Seal as a "pop legend". Legend?!? While Prince is just "Prince"? I consider that to be more of a slap in the face than the t-shirt comment!

Not taking Warner Bros side but I don't know if it's a dig over their sour relationship.

They're talking about nudity and then in the same context say they send Prince one every year. Maybe their point is for Prince to "cover up" (hell he gave them the LOVESEXY artwork cover, maybe they are offering him a shirt?)

I seriously doubt that it has anything to do with Prince / WB's past, the masters or anything like that. Maybe whoever wrote it was trying to be funny, not realising the history they have between themselves and their former artists.

Im not making excuses for Warners, but I think the interpretation on this is not as bad as everyone is making out

wb were very good to prince...there wouldnt be many record companies that would give a few million JUST for a promo video(carmen)then have it thrown back in their face..paisley park anyone?prince had his eyes wide open when he negoitatied the 100m deal in 93(do we really believe he could have recouped his costs...each cd would have had to ship 10m..the cynics amongst us would have u believe all that slave business was to save face and get out of a contract that he knew he could never make good on and instead of losing face in a very very public way he played the artist and race card at once)

Exactly...I mean, it's not like Prince is the only disgruntled former artist from their label...but he IS known for sex and nudity. It's more a comment on that, than anything having to do with sour grapes or vendettas. Prince gave the world assless pants on MTV...no wonder they're tossing T-shirts at him each year to cover up.

Yes, we all know that Prince threw a lot of WB money out of the window but, we also know that this was done with the permission of some executive at WB. Prince was not stealing money and doing whatever he pleased with it. Someone gave him the go ahead. All parties should share some of the blame.

If someone put a 100 million dollar contract in front of you would you sign it? Besides Prince has said he had a bad feeling about the deal but, let be real that's a lot of money and most people would not turn it down.

Prince no longer bashes WB in the media or from the stage.
WB music division no longer exist so it is time for this whole thing to become water under the brigde.
