i m in Canada and received, Empty room and Xpectation, but as the org was down , I went to PrinceFams, as other people did !

And I ve found the links, shared by LaVish, about, Tokyo, Nagoya, Copenhagen, and Osaka. that s all, so I decided to share them with other member of the NPG on Prince.Org
But it seems that something else has been sent by the NPG music Club to Australian, if somebody knows something please share it with us too !!!

Xhalation, Xcogitate and Xpedition are fantastic. I love this new direction. I haven't been able to understand for a long time why talented people restrict themselves to one form of composition (ie. basic aria). I started to get excited when I first heard the One Nite Alone song, and now this...

If anyone else likes the violin throughout Xpectation (of which it is tantalizingly brief), check out The Kennedy Experience.

Just imagine if this new direction makes as much progress over the next ten years as was made between For You and Lovesexy/SOTT.

The downloads of Xpectation from the NPGMC was next to imposible 4 me on my 56k dinosaur, i had 2 get the joints else where and I'm a member. As of now I have all but one track from the Xpectation album and Im trying 2 download it now from a filesharing site. The email joints we're also a joy bcuz I am not able 2 burn MPEG Audio files...who knew??? I was able 2 convert the files 2 mp3's 2day, so it's all good. BTW, Tokyo is one of the sexiest cuts he's done in a long time... just put that on repeat for a couple hours and do your thang! It already worked for me and my wife!! LOL THANK YOU PRINCE!!!

I wonder why they bother asking members not to share? It obviously doesn't work. I got the Xpectation (nice dig at those who complained I thought) and Empty Room links, and was very happy about it. I've only just found out about the other links, so I'm not sure what to make of that... but how can I resist downloading them?

I dont think you need worry about sharing the links as long as its between NPGMC members. I'm sure the note with emptyroom says something along the lines of "Please do not share outside the NPGMC".

So I will be downloading the 4 soundcheck instrumentals tonight!

Am I the only one who got only cut ups when downloading Xpectation ? Each track plays only for aprox. 2 minutes and then abruptly starts over again and stops when the track-time expires. So i had to turn to KaZaA (as a npgmc member) to download it properly. That should defenitely not be the way.
Any one else had the same Xperience ?

Much love 2 Prince and the NPG. I haven't had a single problem that anyone is complaining about. 2002 has been a dream come true 4 this fam... Great seats 4 a great show (Portland OR), free admission 2 the aftershow, a great live CD that documented most of the show in Portland, bonus CDs, downloads... What more can I ask 4??? And I know the next year will B even greater... AND THE REST OF U WILL MISS OUT!!! Do me a favor... if U don't want 2 B apart of it, don't join. U will never B satisfied. I remember peeps complaining when Prince was doing greatest hits tours performing the same songs over and over again in the early 1990's. Now he has the freedom 2 do whatever he wants, and yet U still don't let the artist grow in2 new directions. I rank "One Night Alone" 2 B the best live recording since "Sign Of The Times" the movie. And that's saying alot because we all know the movie's soundtrack had ALOT of overdubs in it. Prince is the only man I know that can do a live show without playing any hits and still can rock a crowd. In fact, the hits he played in concert recently sound SOFT compared to the new music. I grant Prince his freedom... why can't U??

The One Nite Alone single knocked me for six, ONA Live floored me and now Xpectation has...well I love the new direction and I hope it keeps developing. I don't want more of the same, I want an artist to be able to create.

I can't get any of them to download, an error keeps coming up that says the site is either unavailable or not found.

Selena, I couldn't get them to download. I got the same message.But I brought up aol and minimized it and than i clicked on INternet Explorer put in Prince.org and clicked on the addresse for the downloads that the people posted here and it worked.

Has anybody else had any problems downloading this stuff?

For those of us who forked out $100 and never recieved our One Nite Alone CD and for those of us who did not recieve the links for his new material have every right to complain. Prince a genious and I have been a huge fan since he started, but he needs to follow through with what he promises. It's good business.

With so much fantastic new music, best seats at the concerts and soundcheck access I am truely a happy member, really looking forward to this year´s output.

I noticed that i didn't have a problem getting the Empty Room download to work but the download for the others i could not get to download. Could someone provide a link to the other songs?

Hey Selene I had the same problem downloading the Xpectation trax so as a NPGMC member I had 2 go elsewhere 2 get what I mp3's I shouldn't have 2 go filesharing 2 get. Check out WinMX is ur having problems getting the X-trax.

I am in London and got the links to Xpectation and Emptyroom but not the other ones. Maybe each country gets a link to a live bit from their particular sounc check?

Also, I agree with the 'Return to forever' comment. The first thing I thought when I listened to Xpectation wat that it is a somewhat 'updated' version of the 70s funk/jazz Chick Corea and Return to forever recorded. Very nice.

Another funny thing happened. When I listened to Xpectation for the fourth (or so) time, i already had the feeling that I knew the songs from somewhere... and no, not from the previous three times. I am not sure whether I heard them somewhere before or if they just crept into my brain instantly and therefore feel that familiar.

The link received form NPGMC - the Copenhagen file - was (I believe)
only sent to us, who live in Denmark. It is form the soundcheck, as well as Empty Room - the sound on the mp3 file is OK, but the guitar is a bit distorted - hearing it LIVE at the soundcheck on the other hand was divine!!!(and very loud from second row;o)
It´s a shame that the 20 secs. before the song are not on the file. - He sprayed something on his guitar and asked us if anyone knew what it was - nobody answered, then his technician raised his hand LOL! - Prince then replied himself - well - it´s liquid magic solo juice! - and started the song...

(So i guess the links to Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya was originally only sent to those who live in Japan.)


As for Xpectations, if you feel you have heard it before, then it´s because - There is little from Kenny G, little from the Beccer Brothers (sorry if I have spelt it wrong)
and some of it could have been from a Madhouse project.
The only addition is the Violin - very promissing on the first cut, then very missing on the rest... There are some good Prince guitar moments, but I have the impression that this "Album" is done in a hurry, just to please or fullfill something you could call "contractual obligations"! - People were complaining that the club membership isn´t/wasn´t worth the money, so he gethered the band and put down in no more than an afternoon... (but of course I could be wrong...)

As for renewing the membership for 2003, I think many are missing one important point that Prince wants us to understand, but isn´t very clear on telling us - He calls us his friends and supporters! - and that is because the more members, the bigger the support, the bigger is the amount of money he gets! - and now the important point! - the money is not for his own bank (well not all of it) - but the NPGMCs! - The more money he has got, the more can he use on the club and build it as he has imagined it! - and it can only benefit us members - with more cash he would be able to sort out many of the (practical) problems we have experienced - without he have to focus on the business side of Paisley Enterprises / NPG Records (or whatever), trying to get it go round. - The result - less time for creativity!

I don't think there's any problem with sharing the links between NPGMC members. The Australian NPGMC Members got all five links at once in a single email...
