Sonicnet have an interview with "Uptown"'s legal representative Alex Hahn who says the lawsuit is really an attempt to "clear the decks" before starting a new official publication. The interview also quotes other website owners named in the suit as well as Pierre Igot (a supporter of and contributor to Prince's official website) who is asked about his motives in recently making contact with "Uptown" to discuss a "possible" magazine". According to Sonicnet Pierre suggested that "Uptown" would be welcome to join the "collective" at Prince's official website but if they did their fanzine would be obligated to shut down.
