You were pointed to the exact paragraph, above, by LovePaisley.

Well until my hardcopy arrives I'm working with Audible so the paragraph isn't helpful.

So you didn't even bother to look at the post that tells you THE PAGE NUMBER?

You're not understanding. I'm LISTENING to the book, I DO NOT HAVE PRINTED WORDS IN FRONT OF ME RIGHT NOW. That's Audible. It tells me chapters, not page numbers or paragraphs or lines.

Chapter 4, Good Times, towards the end.

i agree with "daPrettyman"....on the audiobook, its hard to distinguish the different voices of Morris, MD, and Prince at times...compelling stories and a great listen nonetheless...

Deleted! biggrin

I'm avoiding any preview of The Beautiful Ones. No pix, no quotes. There's so little of Prince's writing in there, I don't want to waste a word of it. Like a movie that gives all the great parts away in the trailers. shhh zipped

The demo?

.

Yeah, I have no clue what "bombshell" I'm supposed to see there, certainly nothing about Husney and/or Moon co-writing various tracks. I've searched for both their names throughout the e-book and found nothing even remotely like that.

.

LovePaisley better be providing some solid evidence, because it's looking like they're spouting lies so far. Post the first words of the sentence that starts the paragraph that's supposedly so controversial instead of these stupid vague clues.

No spoilers - but I have to say, this is a FANTASTIC read. We finally hear from a peer, someone very close. In his lifetime we heard nothing so not to shake that mystery. Since his passing, so many great great stories have come out. However, this one may be the best recounting and description of who Prince was and how he was formed. Morris' explanations are super..he does not sugar coat the fact that Prince was a TOTAL control freak but he also does not hold back on how much of a genius he believes Prince was. His recounting of Prince being an amazing guitarist siting all the bands he listened to and emulated....Clapton, Jimmy Page etc. I have always wondered what Prince was listening to as a child/young man. Morris offers lots of info..

LOVE IT.

..and yes...would LOVE to have heard him read this in his Morris voice and style.

Bottom page 33, where MD claims that P lied about the demo tapes submitted to the record companies.

The other is the fact that MD videotaped P's openings for the Rolling Stones, giving hope that it was in the vault.

Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

Technically doesn't say he lied but that the company was lezd to believe. How they were lead isn't stated here. I'm just saying.

Read it and really dislike the concept. It's disrespectful to Prince and Prince's religious beliefs.

And somebody should have tipped Morris off that Prince used all caps in his later life.

I think Morris knew that Prince (like most AARP-aged people), seemed to have the caps lock on at all time without noticing.

I think Prince's use of caps was purposeful, and not because he didn't notice.

Of course it was. And very effective too.

I just listened to the whole book today. I really enjoyed it. Personally, I loved the style of imaginary conversations. I just wish it had been even longer and more in depth. Morris seems brutally honest in it.

At the beginning of the week they shipped it to a facility in my city.

Instead of delivering it, they decided to ship it to Iowa.

So I've only read the sample and Morris' voice already has me cracking up. Talking about girls buzzing around Prince's 'pint-sized ass like bees around honey' - lol. I don't know how I feel about Prince 'co-narrating' this book, but if anyone knows Prince, it's Morris. And I have to hand it to him, he seems pretty earnest. Knowing what I already know about Morris' long and not-always-rosy past with Prince, I also believe he genuinely loves and respects Prince. I will read this book.

Once you've read the whole thing, his approach makes sense. He addresses the fall outs head on, and he uses the play with 'Prince' to give the opposite opinion, to ensure the version of events doesn't come across one sided.

The second from last chapter is very sad but heart warming.

I really enjoyed the whole thing.

Excellent book - loved it. Morris is such a great character and artist and his chemistry with Prince was epic. The book is informative, respectful and cool and I really like the influence of David Ritz. Similar to his Rick James & Marvin bios there is an easy flow to the books narrative and chronology courtesy of Ritz's talent and experience. Thoroughly worthwhile - bring on 1999 Super Deluxe!!!!!
