This is beyond preachy by Hannah.

If I didnt know better, one would think Hannah was talking about P when I was first introduced to his music in the late 1970's.

The whole fallacy that women need to cover up in order to get respect from men is infuriating.

Stop tearing down women with your aggressive comments on how you think a woman should talk/behave/dress.

Nah she’s right. Elisa Fiorillo once said something similar about how Prince wanted her, Shelby and Liv to dress. I can’t find many examples of any of them on stage wearing really short skirts/dresses or showing much cleavage.

I'm talking to you.

Well Hannah Welton said this in an interview with The Guardian: https://www.theguardian.c...-like-meat Welton: “We’ve been inspired by his style and him telling us how he wants people to see us. There’s a way to be portrayed as beautiful, and even sassy and sophisticated, yet still powerful. None of us will ever compromise our look and feel as if we have to go out there wearing next to nothing to be noticed. That’s what the industry has become these days and the music is suffering; people are over-compensating for their music not being very good. “We have way too many young kids looking up to artists that are putting out music with terrible, vulgar messages and also walking around with next to nothing on. There are misogynists everywhere in the music industry. But if women are getting sick and tired of men talking about them in their music like they’re a piece of meat, they can’t then walk around treating their body like it’s a piece of meat. Cover up, carry yourself like a woman, and then hopefully the men will take the hint and start treating you with the respect you deserve. But women first have to stand up for themselves and stop degrading themselves, stop compromising. We talk about these things with Prince a lot.” Now maybe being an exotic dancer on a stripper pole doesn’t quality. I won’t make that judgement. Or the women in Prince’s life didn’t always listen to what he said. lol Case in point Janelle who swears like a sailor on her most recent album. https://www.essence.com/c...june-2014/ “Did you ever hear Muhammad Ali curse?” he says. “Would you curse in front of your kids? To your mother? “Marsha, Lianne, Janelle, Donna, Hannah, Ida, Liv, Shelby—they’re all my sisters. We shouldn’t curse at them. We need to treat all of them, and all people, like royalty.” Prince smiles again. “Janelle. She has so much power. She could stop an entire generation from cursing. Could you imagine a whole generation not cursing?”

Well Prince sure didn't seem to mind when he had his girls up there on stage 1/2 clothed, and simulating sex and blow jobs. Or the orgy act going on in the background of Gett Off on the stage.

Here's how Misty describes her new direction.

eek Prince WOULD NOT be happy about this! First Janelle turning into a raunchy, pansexual, sex pot and now Misty on the stripper pole! But she looks HOT!

[Edited 12/8/18 9:07am]

New goal in life -------> raunchy, pansexual, sex pot

That should ALWAYS be saved for BEHIND closed doors. NOONE should know what U prefer in the bedroom except U and your partner.

True. He did venture away from those kinds of things as he grew older thankfully. I seem to recall that Damaris dressed a bit scantily for some performances but her dancing was very tame and pretty conservative.

I don’t think she or Prince’s words were meant to say cover up to an extreme, I think they just meant have some respect for oneself.

Doesn't matter, he still did it. Right? For years and years. And no matter his age he still liked them young too.

Heck he went on stage with just a brief on. Back then in 79-early 80's that was eye opening. He dared to be different, and that's why I liked him.

I see the article is voicing it's own objections that are more than just how much clothing she has on. Now I know I've seen ballets where the dancers were in all types of revealing costumes, it's the nature of the business. Now the bit Misty did with Prince I can see she respected his wishes when she was on his stage. I can see the point of the article especially if it reflected a different direction on last years calendar. But Misty still is a classic ballerina, she's not making her money on the pole but I guess she is still showing some respect for those that do it. I'm sure it isn't an easy thing to master and master it well.

Time keeps on slipping into the future...

Are you for real?

Have you read the lyrics to his last three albums? His songs are replete with suggestive sexual innuendo, and many songs are more than innuendo. There are explicit sexual songs.

This man NEVER wore underwear while performing up to the very end. He was in control of everything he did on stage.

There are numerous photos to prove this.

Stop trying to make the legacy of this man into something that he truly was not.

Stop degrading women with your judgemental rants about their behavior/dress/speech that doesnt fit your "norm" and go put on your "hooker" shoes and Let's Dance.

Yes,some of the songs on the last few albums were pretty suggestive. They weren't raunchy like the ones mentioned but they were sensual with some innuendo. Even one of the last songs that Adrian Crutchfield sang lead on,"Ruff Enuff" had some rather suggestive lyrics. "Screwdriver" too but Prince said that it wasn't what you thought it was about and that it was actually about "the counterclockwise." What he's singing/saying under the verses in the bridge of "This Could B Us" is on the borderline of explicit though.

The last 10+ years were drastically different from the earlier years, musically, performance wise and personally. The Rude Boy was gone. This is severely obvious. His comments were obviously made during the post Rude Boy era.

Yes I think the tunics were gorgeous. The dresses from Morocco had beautiful color detail too. Shelby was wearing another gorgeous top for a recent "Shelby Live" that she said Prince got for her while they were there. She spoke very highly of him and his generosity throughout the chat.

So you think as just the dancer Misty had no say in the way she danced for him? She did as she was told and didn’t ask questions? “Okay you want me to present my vagina to you so I have a reason to be here taking up some of your stage, some of your spotlight, yeah okay, i’ll present my vagina to you

I don't know what the process was. I'm saying people saying "Prince would not approve of what Misty did with these photos, yet he did this on the Welcome 2 tour, need to stop judging Misty. And acting as if Prince was some anti-sexual.

Misty has said that Prince gave her freedom to do what she wanted to onstage so it may have been her idea. At the end of 'TBO's',she also wrapped her arms around Prince in a suggestive embrace. People back then were thinking that they were together because they looked so intimate.
