Mayte and Manuela reminded him of the love he lost. If Mayte was not pregnant, that marriage would have never occurred and Larry Graham encouraged his marriage with Manuela. You do not have your soulmate on the payroll for several years and then realize she is your soulmate. Now! before you all shoot me down, I am elderly and been where most are you are going and along that journey I now know what a marriage is and what it needs to survive. Trust and honesty in all things. 52 years I have been with my man and he is my best friend and soulmate. If you as readers cannot see the bliss on Prince's face to have that women in his arms, then you don't know life yet.”

I totally agree

I'm going to give you a heads up...I'm removing your post.
Because this is about appreciating Vanity. Vanity & Prince 1981 and the photographer that is about to release a book full of photos from the 1979-1984/84 period for us

We don't have to put someone down to make someone else look good.

Vanity didn't need to do that. We don't either.

Wow, this is a touching picture. Young love. For me it visualises the emotions I feel when listening to the music from that era, how quickly the '80s flew by, and also makes me sad that they're no longer with us. I'm glad we have Prince's comments on Vanity from that 2016 P&M show. Thank you for posting

Prince: 1958-infinity. Thank U for everything.

So we can't appreciate Denise and Prince and call a spade a spade? On each and every other post we see her being called a crackhead, whore and more... Respectfully, the Denise fans have a right to express their feelings just as the others, right?
Old Friends For Sale I see how dedicated you are to the site and I appreciate it, genuinely! Just saying...

"At one point this stunning blonde walks over to me, taps me on my shoulder and says, “Hello, I’m Jamie Shoop and Prince would like you to escort him to the mens room.” How bizarre I thought. Certainly a line I’ll never forget. “Who?” I asked. “Prince!” she said contemplating my response. Didn’t I know who Prince was? She pointed to him and I nonchalantly glanced over my shoulder in his direction. What an eyeful this boy. “What’s wrong?” I said. “Can’t he hold it himself?” This was of course the beginning of a communication line based on sheer poetry. He had the biggest doe eyes I’d ever seen."

"He sauntered over as if on a catwalk with more than enough confidence trying hard not to smile. Obviously, somebody famous because everyone was looking his way. I regret to say that I did not. You see I’d been in Japan for the last year and hadn’t kept up with the latest music in the U.S.A. Approximately six months previous to this moment I recalled seeing his face in a record shop in Japan. For a split second, I thought to myself, “I wouldn’t mind meeting up with this guy someday. He kind of looks like he could be my brother.”

I can just imagine what Purple Rain would have been like with Vanity! No shade to Apollonia--loved her in the movie back in the '80s.

Actually it would have ‘hot and firey’. When he would have hit her in that scene, she may have hit him back. She was his equal in every way and he and she were instinctual in their behaviour to each other. They were each competitive, driven, controlling, stubborn, determined and unique. Both beautiful, emotional and going places that would drive them apart. Her leaving him and not doing Purple Rain was as much testing Prince and his love for her as for her career. Both of them would sabotage anything that put them in a vulnerable position and their obsession with each other was right up there. Purple Rain with Vanity would have been volatile, beautiful to see, sexy as you could imagine and unforgettable. That was one humongous loss to cinematography. The sly looks given to each, the sex scenes and the chemistry would have been so real and natural. Albert Would have been beside himself with trying to edit. Every scene would have been explosive.

I agree Margi! Explosive is a good word to describe it.
