I like hearing stories from the people that grew up and worked with Prince. Good or bad or straightforward, keep it coming. As a matter of fact, I am feeling the stories are pretty tame to respect the legacy. | |

Well, André, I guess you already know how difficult it is to please Prince Fam. Thank you for this interview. I found it to be honest and informative. I really appreciate it. I also noticed what Toure (and maybe some others?) seemed to miss: that when Toure asked you how prince got so successful so quickly then young, you humbly stated that when you and he were both approached for an initial opportunity, P said Yes right away and took opportunity when it came, while you wanted your manager to look at the deal. Thanks for taking the time to discuss Prince with us. This interview really made my weekend. I also appreciate your fairness and hear your love for him. Much respect. 😇 | |

I just did a few things around the house then opened up my phone and was looking at a later picture of Prince.
As I do often, I was contemplating him...who he was...what he was like...much of this is what I gather from what I’ve learned about him. Then into my head popped Andre’s description of the last time he talked to Prince: that he was really cool and really sweet as always. Now, if we didn’t have people who knew Prince being willing to risk all the criticism they do from us just to SHARE with us and do history justice, I wouldn’t have had that wonderful, pleasant thought of P being that way when I think of him. André also said that P did change when he got famous but I take this to mean his lifestyle changed and some of his personality, probably in their younger days especially. One thing he mentioned as a cause for this was that he (André) had the benefit of being fortunate enough to be “grounded” on his family. IOW, it is understood that Prince didn’t have that necessarily, if at all. There’s nothing wrong with Andre talking about himself as a basis for explaining Prince. [Edited 6/17/18 19:06pm] | |
