Prince and The Revolution Tribute Band looking for new lead "Prince"

Recently after launching an amazingly successful Prince and The Revolution tribute band, our lead singer was picked up to perform in Las Vegas. This is an amazing band, time to work someone new in, great gigs, great pay, practice in a theater, stylist/seemstress available to help with wardrobe, and work with really great people!

If you, or if you can suggest someone I can reach out to, that might be interested please let me know. Thanks!

Bart would fire the entire band, and then promote the shows as "Prince songs by Bart the way they should have been done and not how Prince effed them up." biggrin

by the tone of his comments, i could clearly see/hear/imagine Bart singing "Love & Sex"...in that same exact tone and delivery that P uses ... somebody's people call his people...i got 5 on it...

You say your lead singer was picked up to perform in Vegas. I thought Purple Reign had Vegas sole up or that got demand for 2 Prince Tributes? Or is Purple Reign no longer doing a Vegas Prince Tribute continuously?

after p died i've noticed more tribute bands, purple reign was still the best i'd seen though. prince is probably harder to imitate than anyone you can think of he's so idiosyncratic, who's going to be that small? sing and dance and although other people can play behind the guy, the real prince could go from instrument to instrument, not an easy gig. I could do the voice, no problem but I'm too big and I only play piano and don't dance.

Yes, I started the band and I play keyboards. The lead singer already had some informal appearances in Las Vegas several times a month, but nothing major and nothing on stage. He began working with our band and as soon as word got out there, another tribute band "Prince Experience" made him an offer to work in a second "Prince" band. Looking to expand his operation I guess. So we are stuck looking for a new lead.

Ha! Well I certainly would like to see/hear anyone that might be able to do the job. Again, it's an amazing opportunity!

Oh wait, that's right the band is "Purple Reign" not the "Prince Experience". That lead singer decided to put a second band together. Like I mentioned before, expanding his operation. There was also a little talk (I think) that guy was going to "retire" from the stage and was looking for a replacement. From the little I know about him, ha, "dat ain't gonna happen".

No, sincerely, not at all. I haven't worked with anyone in the music industry that didn't have an "issue" or two - it's the lay of the landscape. I'm just trying to work someone in as quick as I can. Just got a call from the Stone Pony in NJ last night and from the Hard Rock in Niagra Falls.

No sarcasm, sincerely interested! Can you please drop him a note or pass along his contact info? I would really appreciate it!.

Me too! Believe me. Need some advice, I'm not familiar with a forum like this, do I need to repost this for it to keep getting attention? I'm just trying to reach as many people as I can. Any information is appreciated! Thanks.

Your comment today "bumped" the thread up to the top of the page.

So, that is all you need to do.

Did you post on the Prince Facebook pages?

I hope you find someone soon.
