tattoos and baby names? a bit too permanent to be insincere.

I have a thought. When people like Mayte and Sheila permanently tattoo his symbol on their bodies or when the Weltons name their second born off of Prince (who incidently was born on his birthday)...How can we just assme there was no real love there for Prince despite our reservations about the way some of them handled or still handle things. I am not crazy about book deals, exploitation, passiveness in the face of trouble etc. But these tattoos and baby names are permanent--a life long committment to their connection to this man. For this reason, I can't help but think there is some love for this man even if we don't always approve of their actions where Prince is concerned. I meant to post on associates. Sorry.

How Indeed ?

Here WE are...

Weve never met him, kissed him played with him...in the bedroom or elsewhere

yet WE still talking about him,

mouring him missing him..

and Yes loving him..

To assume that people who had a direct connection with him had no LOVE for him is just stupid..

My heart goes out to everyone who had been close to him at one stage or another...

I am absolutely gutted by his departure...

Mayte had his Baby ...she had to be hurting HEAPS

The Weltons were like family to him, he mentored them and made them laugh

SHeila has known him for more than half her life...

was personally involved with him andmust have some epic intimate memories

I believe them when they say they will Love him Forever..

I will too

I never viewed them as insincere. I just thought they were stupid. shrug

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Yeah, whoever said these people were insincere? I thought Joshua was the worst thing going in the Prince camp in his final few years but that doesn't mean they didn't have the best friendship.

I have been posting too much and reading too much on the death investigation threads, I guess. There isn't a lot of love for the Weltons, Mayte, and sheila...all being blamed for not doing enough while P was alive or for being vague with investigaters. I was just trying to state that these relationships and these people are complex but that doesn't mean affection did not exist.

I agree purple, jaawwmnn, and lovejunky. These people loved Prince and they were close to him at a certain time, and/or at various times throughout their lives. They should NOT be blamed for Prince's death. Prince was a smart man, and he controlled every aspect of his life. These people were as close to, or as far away from him as he wanted them to be at any given time throughout the years. HE called the shots - not them. We all have opinions about who he chose to have in his life, however, at the end of the day, he made those choices for his own reasons.
