Prince.org

You know I've been a Prince fan the moment I heard Soft and Wet on the
radio. Then came the Prince album yes I said album....(I'm showing my age this was before twitter, Facebook, cell phones, hell this was way before the internet.) I saw his beautiful face for the first time. After that I had to have every magazine with his face on it....Right On!....Black Beat and Rock and Soul..just to name a few. I consider myself a great fan without a doubt. I love all things Prince. With that said, I've been a member of Prince.org for a long time. I know my profile says since 2010 but its been longer than that even. I remember when it was a time when you could come here, post a thread and get feedback from others and hear others opinions in a positive non volatile atmosphere. While maybe we didn't all agree we could atleast state our opinions in a unrude fashion. Its OK to agree to disagree.

The past few days I've been called out my name. I've had a thread locked in which a moderator called my statement...nonsense. In this particular thread I'm referring to a quote by Prince himself. Its from a well known Black publication, Jet magazine. On top of that its a well known Prince fact that he was quoted as saying..."everyone thought I would marry Vanity". These are his words. Prince a super private person. He was expressing himself and opening up. I have no clue why this would be deemed nonsense. Its fact. Prince said it.

Perhaps because the statement is dealing with a one time ex girlfriend. Who with just the mention of her name causes bias/resentment. While others feel free to post on Mayte, Mani, Andy without malice or bias.

I look forward to The Prince.org of the old.

pnv - it wasn't what Prince said that bothered me. It was the "enough said" after it. Your post wasn't said to elicit a discussion, but rather to prove a point. To you, you believe that proves that Vanity was the love of Prince's life. You stated what you stated, not to engage others, but to state, "See? This proves it." If you had offered it up for discussion, "what do you think Prince meant when he said this?" then people may have engaged more positively. This is why a lot of the threads about Vanity/Denise or Andy get shot down, because there is no discussion. It is a "my opinion is the only one that matters, I don't care about any other woman involved in his life, THIS woman and only this woman matter to Prince and there is plenty of evidence to support it." But everyone has evidence to support each of his wives/girlfriends as "being the one", but the truth is, no one knows. Only Prince knows who the true love of his life was. Everything else that fans post is merely opinion, but the fans posting it, want to post it as fact.

There is absolutely no one here who does not like Vanity or 'resents' her

Vanity is not the problem PNV

Benni OK I'll take that...my issue isn't really with you. Its the name caller. The moderator...I mean really as a moderator you should be able to explain your actions. Nonsense is what she called the statement. The statement is a well known fact. So my thread gets locked. When absolutely nothing happens to a name caller. That sets the tone for things right there. I'll say again its never ever use to be like that. I mean someone can say the craziest things to an individual and get away with it. Where as you speak about a certain ex girlfriend, here comes the bias, name calling a locked thread. That ain't right!! Is it??

When did 'nonsense' become such a PC term? No one called you Nonsense, we say certain information or news is Nonsense all the time. You are being too sensitive in this. And if you are someone who has been here as long as you say, you should know what you just did here is 100% wrong. If you have issues with a moderation issue you take it up with the Mod IN PRIVATE. Not to mention, you could have posted that in the 'If I Was Your Girlfriend or Prince & Vanity threads that you created. How many more need to be created on the same topic?

Review

Rule #7 #5 #3

.

Go back and read over the thread you created. And if you still don't get it, you never will. You want your fantasy of Prince & Vanity loving beyond life into spirit and heaven to be true.
If you take what Benni said, then everything else you said needs to be balanced off of it.

.

And the multiple threads you've created about God calling them both home to be together... come on. They both had two different views of heaven. But if I'm not mistake, Jesus said, In heaven there is no marrying and no giving in marriage.
