PRINCE'S FATHER'S NEW ALBUM to be released on March 2nd: Don't Play With Love - The John L. Nelson Project Prince's Father's new album entitled "Don't Play With Love - The John L. Nelson Project" will be released on March 2nd.
"A long anticipated release, the songs of John L Nelson brought to life at Paisley Park by Sharon L. Nelson an an all star band led by the great Louis Hayes. Shelved for a time due to John L. Nelson's frequent collaborations with Prince, the music sheet music re-appeared in a rather serendipitous fashion and destiny was fulfilled. Sublime in its presentation, with classic melodies that the writer mastered, Don't Play With Love brings a rich past right to the present day." its worrying that people like her now have power. We have Tyka saying Prince called me about producing a few tracks! I mean really! We know that's a lie right there! I will go with Susan Rodgers who said Prince would give his dad some writing credit so he got some money! But didn't think he actually contributed to the songs. |

Nelson project was 'shelved' due to 'frequent collaborations with Prince.' Besides the scarcity of known collaborations one only has to look at the time since John Nelson's passing where Prince chose not to produce or release this project even though he had his own studios and label. | |

If it comes out SNJ's disbursement so be it. If they were smart they would invest any advances they receive in the stock market and go make some real money.
My only real concern is that weasel gets SNJ in the whole with him finacially that he gets a piece of the estate. The other sibs are going to have big problems if he get any parts of SNJ's shares.

Yes, it could happen. Remember LM offered Tyka a 10 million dollar risk free loan. Anyone can weasel a share out of any of the sibs by simply leanding them money and if you activilty work to keep the estate tied up in court it works out even better for you to buy your way in.

Yes, he or anyone could get half. Now we know Prince assigned royatlies for the last four albums to Dreamcorps and we know the WB contract has licenses for some albums that go on forever and different end and start dates for other titles. This type of stuff makes it difficult for anyone to come in and do a massive selloff but having share means having a say and that can mean having the power to keep things tied up in court and preventing income generating deals to get off the ground.
LM was too close to UMG, Breamer and Kopplecrook for my taste. He moved too quickly and is still hanging on. | |
