Londell McMillan Responds To JAY-Z’s Diss & Strongly Defends His Partnership With Prince (Video)

Following Prince’s death on April 21, 2016, there has been a tug of war regarding the icon’s music and assets. One month after the tragic news, JAY-Z made that battle bo...ry catalog. On the Grammy-nominated 4:44, Shawn Carter took umbrage with the handling of Prince’s estate. The only person that Jay placed specific blame on is L. Londell McMillan, Prince’s business partner, former manager, and onetime attorney.

“Anyone who knew Prince really knew that Prince left instructions to leave Paisley Park as a museum,” he says at the 16:40 mark. “He left instructions to at least 20, 30 people, so that was a fact. In fact, he started writing out the plans for that.”

He leaves one final thought on Jay’s line at the 18:00 mark. “I could just tell you this. If anybody leaves their family with an estate, you should want somebody like me making sure that we are protecting it and we are monetizing it so your family doesn’t lose it. We created almost $100 million in less than nine months so the IRS don’t back up with a big yellow truck to the purple building and take his assets. Who does that? So when people talk about seeing green in the purple eyes, me being able to generate revenue, make money, that’s a great thing.”

"he started writing out the plans for that" Makes me sad, because that means he did finish what he had planned.

He died before he could complete his plans. He was in the process of attending to specific plans about PP and he left this plane of existance sooner than he planned to.

You know... I wanna respect Londell, but he's a shark, everyone knows he's a shark, and a shark trying to act like he's ever been about anything more than the money is just not really believable. I know he was around Prince a lot longer, but Prince worked with Jay Z because he respected him as an artist and a younger brother trying to build an empire in the music business. I don't have any doubt that Prince was and would have been in complete alignment with JayZ's continual deal with Tidal. Prince his whole entire career was never afraid of sacrificing broader monetary gains for particular more limited arrangements. For him it was always about what felt right to him.

Change it one more time..

Londell can't be trusted. He's a snake, like all the rest of them. The jury is still out on whether or not Tidal had rights to stream Prince's music. As it stands, they only had rights to HitnRun.

I think that being a "shark" is a great trait for a Lawyer to have! And for anyone in business, who is a boss and so on!

He is not a shark. You need to read what the court's investigation turned up on him and his 50k judgement against him from his previous law firm.

I think he robs Peter to pay Paul
