THE FAMILY ON FACEBOOK LIVE RIGHT NOW

https://www.facebook.com/...916940828/

Jerome is in the room but not on cam (he's being a pest... haha). Eric & Jellybean are on the phone. Paul & Susannah are on cam.

Edit: It's over now, but hopefully they'll leave the video up on the FB page. There are a few stories about "Adore", Susannah's children's book turning into something bigger, "Paul - punk of the month", some UTCM memories, and more.

AND JEROME being with the band at their gigs coming up at the end of the month at the Dakota!

Nah, not really. The project at hand is Eric & Paul's No Words album from their LP Music group. I think it's an instrumental jazz record. They've been working on it for a while. They had a lot of support on Kickstarter (or GoFundMe?).

I do sort of think they will do another record, but you're looking at a good two-three years down the line. LP Music is first up, then Susannah said she started the Starfish & Coffee kids book and it's grown into something bigger. She didn't say much, but did mention she's the executive producer on an upcoming tie-in with the book. So that was exciting to hear. They'd go through all that before focusing on a new fDeluxe project.

Let me expand on a couple of things from the video:

"Adore" - someone asked about the songs Prince wrote for Susannah. She said she did not know if "Adore" was about her. She said Prince came up to their bedroom and got her, and said, "Come downstairs. I want you to listen to my new song". So she got herself together, they went downstairs, and he played "Adore" for her. He said, "What do you think?" She said it was beautiful. And it was written during their time together, and they did have a beautiful time together. She wasn't assuming it was about her. He seemed happy she said it was, but never indicated it was directly inspired by her. -- Now whether he grabbed her to listen to every song he finished or not is unknown, but a girl could assume if he didn't, but purposely got her to listen to this song, then maybe it was inspired by her. Jerome joked "Let's see what the internet comes up with". Paul said, "Someone's updating wikipedia." LOL

When asked "What song do you think he wrote for you?" probably meaning Susannah, Paul jumped in, coyly, and said, "I heard 'The Dream Factory' might have been about me? You think?" Susannah kept noting that Prince was pissed that Paul had jumped ship. That's when the "punk of the month" chant came up. Paul said he had t-shirts with that on them for a while after that he wore. (They also joked it would be funny to have them made for the forthcoming Dakota show, too.) It was noted that Prince really railed on Paul for a while, especially during the Hit N' Run Tour, using the "punk" chant, or even using parts of "Dream Factory" in songs. When Susannah said "he was pissed at you", Paul said "Was he? I did not know he was mad." Obviously, he did. Paul also noted that he was sitting at a friend's house during that time, just scared to death, wondering what he had done and if he had made a huge mistake, etc. The guy was 20 years old and full of himself but was learning his mistake.

Susannah said her favorite song that Prince wrote about her was "Nothing Compares 2 U". Paul, still joking, said, "He wrote that for you?!" Paul sorta jokes (or not?) that he didn't know Prince wrote that for Susannah. She almost believes him, "How did you not know?! Yes, yes he did." Now this really squelches the claim by Jerome that Prince wrote the song for him after Jerome broke up with a girlfriend or something.

Someone asked why the green screen in "The Screams of Passion" video were ocean waves. They thought it was random. Paul & Susannah thought about it for a moment, then realized it was because of the "vulva splash" lyric in the song. The ocean waves were symbolic of that. More jokes about vulva splash, etc., were made, Susannah saying "Does Paul know what he's singing about?" One of them said, "Volvo splash? What is a Volvo splash?" Paul also notes about Jerome taught him the steps to the video the night before in the warehouse, trying to get a white gangly boy to do the right dance moves.

Jerome and Susannah talk about living in a house in France during the filming of UTCM. Susannah said it wasn't a great time because Prince was pretty busy with the film. I mean, how you can not have fun in France is beyond me, but ok. LOL Seriously - Jerome said he had a blast. He was asked (he was off camera the whole time but chiming in on questions) what was the best part of the filming. He said, "I was with Prince!" He noted that it was fun every day working on that film and just hanging out with Prince in a different way. Susannah noted that it probably was a different experience for him.

Jerome, after the "Adore" story, said Prince wrote "17 Days" about him. However, I - and most in chat - thought Jerome was just being goofy as usual. I took not great heed to his statement for it being truthful.

About "Miss Understood" - Susannah said Prince had this song for her. He wanted her to sound like Elvis and Marilyn Monroe rolled into one. She said she wasn't sure she could do that. He assured her she could. She cut the track, listened back and hated it. She said "It was HORRIBLE! What you all hear is what I think is HORRIBLE." She went to Prince, the first time she'd done something like this, and said, "This is terrible. The song is terrible, and I'm terrible on it. He laughed. He laughed!" He assured her it was fine, and that he would not put it on the album, and there were more songs to record for the record. She said she never wanted it to see the light of day, "HENCE! Everyone's now heard it and it's awful!" She had a good attitude about it now, but she's adamant that she hates everything about it.

Other fun stuff once Jellybean and Eric get on the phone. Eric was locked in w/ the snow and wanted to go nap. Jellybean said he was talking to someone when the phone rang (twice, he sent it to voicemail the first time Susannah called on camera), but noted, "I got bad kids, so when the phone rings, I have to pick it up". LOL Jellybean has also been working out and said he did 75-minutes of cardio earlier that day trying to keep fit at 61-years-old.
