Any news on Mayte's second book yet?

She said on a couple occasions she plans on a second book. I'm just wondering if this project has had any movement. I'm interested because she said it would go into more specific details about particular songs & videos.

Christ, the first one just came out. A book doesn't just happen. It takes work, and she's also a single mom who works. So her book writing is probably in between those responsibilities. I've written and published a book this year, and am publishing my second next spring. It is never quick work.

Besides, there is no rush on it. If she is writing another book about the videos and their stories, that would be pretty interesting. I think fans are as interesting in the day to day Prince as they are of the technical stuff and details about songs, studio time, stuff like that.

I didn't know she was coming out with another book already, but that would not surprise me.

Indeed. Writing a book take a lot of work and a lot of help. I could write a book about my life, but I can't ride on anyone's coattails, so no one would be interested in reading in, LOL. lol

.

I would be interested in your writings. You could orgnote me your books, if you don't want to list them here. biggrin

She does not know shit about anything technical. Lord the credit some of you give the belly dancing is mind boggling.

Comes from the same person who tends to give crazy Tyka too much credit too. You don't know what Mayte knows, so you better pipe down on that subject.

I am not going to pipe down about anything. Do really think this chick knows more about him then the sister he grew up with? Prince did not leave this women two nickels. His sister is going to inherit money and does not need to belly dance to make a buck. In fact she will be able to sit on her butt for the rest of her days something M1 thought she was going to be doing because she will not doing this is the only reason she is writing any books.

I bet you think she wrote this opus with no help. biggrin

Looking at her shape, belly dancing wouldn't be that bad for her. lol We've been talking about the music Laura, and Mayte was married to him, she also stated somewhere in the book, that she was sometimes in the studio, and he recorded her Album 2. So I'd guess she knows something.

And it's so fucking funny right now Laura, you are contradicting yourself, you just bashed Mayte because she "got to dance to make any money" while it's totally okay for Tyka to sit on her ass because she gonna get the money Prince left behind. Wow, glorifying lazyness. In previews posts you've been complaining that Mayte's using Prince to get money. lol lol lol

Oh and I might add, since you said she grew up with him, didn't Prince runaway when he was 12 years old? So my guess would be that he wasn't really present during her childhood.

Not sure what you mean? Mayte was in a lot of videos, so it might be interesting to hear her story about how they came to be and her personal experience while making them.

She was with ol' boy for a long time. There are years of stories. She definitely stuck to the finer points in The Most Beautiful. But if this alleged second book is more about the artistry and music side of it (opposed to the relationship, which there are still books worth to write about), that would be fun to read. Sort of a The Vault or princevault or Days of Wild book from a first-person perspective.

She has a right to tell her stories and there is a market for it. Prince fans lap up everything from his shoe size to the brand of shampoo he used, demand this or that be put on BluRay with a 25-disk super deluxe amazing expanded enhanced edition on colored vinyl with 100-page full-color booklet (who would contain photos by Steve Parke who they'd also shit on unnecessarily) and only wanna pay $24.95 for it. Yet when someone who was actually there and knew him down to the literal size of his dick wants to write a book, then they're labeled money grabbers.

Frankly, I hope she writes the book just because it'll piss off a few fans (who are secretly going to buy, read, and consume it anyway). Either way, it'd be a great read. I always said if anyone was going to write a book about Prince, I'd wanna read Mayte or Susannah's account first. We know the story early on. I wanna hear about those who lived with him and shared moments with him.

If she wants to write a book about artistry should write about her own. She knows nothing about music. She is not a musician and can barely dance or sing. She had no contact with this man for 20 years and certainly was not in the studio with him after they divorced.

If you think ex-wives and girlfriends from 20 years ago have insight you need to get out more.

Both these chicks were not even smart enough to know Prince was playing both of them. Anyone that would contintue to involve themselves with a man who treated them like dirt is doing things to get even and to make money. Both of them need to get jobs and get off Prince Incorporated.

Her voice is thin and boring. She only had a recording contract because of Prince wanted her to sing and he was dating her.

She has never had a recording contract since then and no one is checking for her.

I really thought her dancing with Prince was horrible. She stood around on stage shook her ass not event to the beat of the music. She even admitted she was not a fan of his music when she met him.

There are clips of her on stage with him that are embarrasing for him and her.

Cat was the best dancer he had and he had no business putting Mayte on the stage. He really created a monster when he sold her on the idea that she had star potential.

If nothing else you're consistent.
So you posit that she did notihng after Prince, but Cat really didn't either (one single is not a career). I'm not slagging on her because of it, but how is that not the same as what you are saying BESIDES your opinion. You rag on Susannah constantly yet she DID have a career writing and performing as a background singer, but you go after her for not keeping her looks up. Basically you find fault with these people becasue you have a fictional relationship in your head with Prince and appear to be the holder of facts and knowledge you really dont have. It's entertaining, but sad.
