Article: Prince Takes the Paisley Underground for the Three O’Clock’s ‘Neon Telephone'

The article has a few wrong items noted as fact. The song was inspired by Mary's telephone in the movie. The song didn't inspire him to put a neon telephone in Christopher's apartment because they didn't have a neon telephone in the apartment. It was Mary who had the toys. And actually, I think he could have put "Neon Telephone" in that scene, with it playing on the radio that Mary was listening to "I Wonder U" on when she called Christopher.

Vermillion is a great record front to back. Prince's offering to it fit quite well into the scheme of their record.
