That’s really interesting. I wonder what she meant by the object, I’m assuming is a clam or something, where she stated “it’s a woman and her baby in there to protect them”?🤔 [Edited 12/2/17 9:06am]

Absolutely love this footage, she was such a sweet soul.

The sculpture is so amazing with items that were representative of their time together.

Prince's eyes are in there and also letters spelling the word 'I love'.

Wonder if the sculpture is still intact.

Also wondered about her words annalizer.

(At 8:10)

'There's a woman and her/a baby inside there she says.

The interviewer asks why they are there and she goes on to say 'for protection'.

adding that it probably doesn't make any sense.

thanks for posting the link!

'cause you got to know...how I feel about you babe

I loved that she explained what each thing represented but she didn't explain the woman and her baby being protected inside. It left me wondering too hmmm

Also, Kathy Lee said something like, "But you know what it means." And Vanity said, "Yeah."
Maybe there's a bigger reason Princes eyes teared up during the 2010 BET Award show when Alicia Keys sang, "Adore".
Something big happened between those two.
They were young. And not together for long. But it was extremely deep.

Especially since Jeff Koons is known for having his assistants make his work. Vanity made this herself.

Hardly a ringing endorsement. In any event, anyone who knows anything about sculpture knows that the designer isn’t always the maker, especially for large-scale pieces or a series of works. The question here is why anyone would take ownership of such awfulness? But I’m sane so what do I know?

We did not the piece as it was to be displayed.

.

Clearly the art was not meant for you or I

.

Denise was talented and I do not understand the need to belittle her talent or discount her as an artist.

It's not about belittling her, or whatever. If everyone were a bunch of baying sycophants in this world...then where would we be? In your world, any old tosh would get praise simply because you didn't want to hurt a person's feelings. I'm sure Vanity was very nice but she weren't no sculptor. The piece is ridiculous and silly...and one should be allowed to say that.

No need to try to personalize this-you do not even KNOW MY WORLD.

.

I do not come at art from anyone to trash it as it is from the creativity , integrity of the artist. . . but I understand that would not be understood here.

.

That is all.

Let's put it this way. You and I both know the look on Prince's face when he ever got round to seeing this. He'd file this under "go away".

That is all.

It occurred to me that when P saw this he asked her for a contract that it was made for him, because that’s how sweet and supportive he was. He was extremely aware that Denise had sensitive feelings and was careful with her.

This piece of art seems so Prince. Seems like it would fit right in
His Purple Rain bedroom. Makes sense why it broke his heart when she decided
Not to be apart of something that she obviously helped inspire.

I think other peoples creativity was so important to him at a very deep heart level, because he knew what his meant to him.
