I got a very clear glimpse of something this morning when I was just standing somewhere not thinking about it...it was just “put on me”, just materialized... At the time of Prince’s death Andy was the young female he had the strongest feelings for and hope for. It is quite a compliment. But Prince was also an older man, yes, exactly like an uncle... And he was still untouchable in many ways. He was so much higher than all the females around him when it came to a serious committed relationship. (romantically). This is the explanation for why he didn’t get too serious or remain serious with Andy romantically. Or any of the other ones. I know the Truth when I feel it. There actually was no one around him who was a potential equal to him in this way. He had already been through it twice before. He knew better.

Do you feel that Andy was aware of this? I noticed that after his passing,a few people told her about seeing her picture at Paisley. I wondered if she knew before that it was there and how she felt about it.It probably made her feel special.A woman posted on her FB after seeing the photo that Prince really loved her and Andy thanked her and said she loved him as well.It seems from her FB posts last year,Andy realized she had feelings for Prince after he passed and regretted not telling him when she had the chance. Not certain Prince still had feelings for her though it appears he may have.We don't really know who Prince had around him at the time as I recently found out how close he was with Snoh Aalegra though they seemed to be friends.I also think he had a connection with Judith and Kandace. It doesn't seem he found anyone he was serious enough to settle down with again in the end though I agree. I think he felt strongly for all of the ladies in his life at one time.

Prince loved everybody and his focus was on helping people as often as possible to quiet his urges for what he knew wouldn't work.
For a partner at his spiritually developed level which was all he was going to let get serious after all his experiences, there just wasn't one.

Prince needed inspiration at all times and he and all the honeybees gave that back and forth to each other. Sometimes the lines had grown murky. He was after all a very, very sensual man with many desires.
But after 2014 he continued to mature.

I agree.I think that may have been why he was seeking companionship with more mature women such as Tamron.Judith was in her thirties and Snoh was in her late twenties.I think Andy was the youngest he had dated in a while when they got together and the thirty year age difference may have been a factor in their eventual breakup. Thanks for clarifying.

I am still playing the This Christmas EP almost nonstop. I even transferred it to my phone and I was able to play it in my car with my Bluetooth. It is some of the best new Christmas music I've heard since my youth.

You’re welcome. I also felt last night that helping people was very key to him because it kept him out of any depression about his losses and traumas earlier on.

Still, in the end, he seemed to be pining for Andy...and he had her photo hanging in his meditation room at Paisley.

I've been enjoying it as well! I think she may have been working on the EP for a while from some of the posts the producers have made on FB.One posted that he recorded the horns in Germany and the flute and strings were recorded in the Ukraine. Also the guitar solo on Please Come Home was played by Ukrainian Blues guitarist Robert Vnuk. The arranger Phillippe Arconstanzo said that he feels the style and sound of the EP is true to Andy and that he would love to do a whole album with her in that style. Her brother Chris commented that it has a Philly Soul feel and I get that as well.

Some have said it sits on a pedestal in the left hand corner of the room.I read that the photo is from Andy's Superconductor lyric book and it is the one used for Story Of You & I.Only Prince knew why he put the photo up.It's brought attention to Andy and her music which may have been his motive.

Yes! I definitely think this is a return to Andy's roots. Parts of it are very reminiscent of the "Who is Jill Scott" album. I think it would be very smart of her to do an entire CD with this team, with similar stylings and arrangements.

I agree. One of the other producers Billy Ray Schlag spoke to Chris as if there is one in the works and he seemed very excited about it.While the neo soul style fits her well,I still love the One Step Closer EP and I hope she still is planning to release an album like it as well.I'd like studio versions of her latest songs like Dandelion,Time Heals All Wounds and "Ships In The Night"if she ever finished it.

I was looking at the title of this thread again "...and is kindly giving it away for free."
That reminded me of a comment I saw on Andy's twitter, it might've been by the guy who took the photo for the EP, anyway he said, "Brilliant marketing!"

I thought, wait. So we're told it's gift because "I love you" but really that was just marketing?

Is there an honest person left on earth?

Man, this world is filled with scary and hateful people, many of whom attempt to mask it with claims of spirituality. And, I tell you, they don't sleep. Some, as in this case, are up in the middle of the night leaving poison cyber pills. I really applaud artists who are dedicated and courageous enough to put themselves out there in this toxic environment.

That's why I really admire Andy, who can't win with some of you. If she were to sell the EP, she would be accused of "pimping" Prince, never mind that she doesn't mention Prince in her music. It's not her fault that Prince fams will forever associate her with the great man...and many love her because they know that he loved her. (Not to mention, she is extremely talented, which is why she was P's protege in the first place.) Now, she's giving away a Christmas EP and that is somehow dishonest. Can you please explain that one or are you just basing your cynical comment on a comment that you read on Twitter?

And, even if giving away an EP or CD is somehow marketing, what does it matter to the consumer, who actually pays nothing for the product?? Do you begrudge the artist the right to somehow find a way to eke out a living in this market where people have come to expect FREE music? This is the exact reality about which Prince was so concerned in this modern music industry, where streaming music makes it almost impossible for musicians to be paid.

That aside, please explain how giving away her EP is not "honest."

Actually, if you understood how the universe works, you would see that I am helping Andy by requiring that she be 100% authentic with us. I know you can't see that. Go ahead, keep saving her from growth. Some friend you are.

It's interesting that you followed up your claim that selling the EP would result in people saying she's "pimping" Prince (which is absolutely ridiculous) with the
quick additional claim that "she doesn't mention Prince". Lol...

The fairy tale we have heard already, and yes, I am stating that people around her should either be careful of what they write on social media, or she should correct them and say "This was something given from my heart." If that's the case.

I'd rather pay for it and support her than be manipulated, is all I'm saying.

There isn't much I don't catch.

You make my point about hateful, negative people masking their venom with spiritual claims about "the universe" and such.

To be sure, I agree that it's ridiculous to accuse her of "pimping" Prince, but that didn't stop an Orger from recently making that very claim. Just as ridiculous is your claim that you are somehow "helping Andy by requiring that she be 100% authentic with us" by accusing her of not being honest about gifting her Christmas EP. rolleyes

Bottom line, if you feel that the free EP is manipulative, then don't download it. It's very simple. Meanwhile, those of who know better than to look a gift horse in the mouth, as they say, will continue to play this free music until the cows come home. In fact, I'm jamming to "Merry Christmas, Baby" at this very moment. music headbang fro

I'm very glad she decided to gift us with this beautiful EP.I'm sure she was testing the waters a bit also to see the reaction and it has been warmly received.I wish it had a few more songs as it's a bit short but from the looks of it,most are thrilled to have it.Her voice is perfect for these songs and I love the production.Sounds like a lot of work went into the project and the producers are very pleased with the way it turned out, wanting to work with her again.

Yes, I am prompting her or the people around her to be 100% honest.
No games, no gimmicks, no manipulation, no "marketing".

She is not Prince. Only Prince could get away with what he did, and made it interesting, and as he grew he became more and more authentic anyway.

I understand that the concept of total emotional honesty might feel like "hatred" to you.
But Spirituality is about that.

Either give freely or charge for what is your right to charge for.

This man's comment about her great marketing really baffled me.

You still haven't said how giving away the EP is dishonest. And, now are you somehow suggesting that she thinks she is Prince?? Chiiiile. Your comments are just as "baffling" as the man's comments to which you refer. And, since you are on here launching grenades, you need to make it plain. Otherwise, it becomes patently clear who's being manipulative.

BTW: The hateful obsession that some have with Andy is unhealthy...and creepy. I pray that she has security around her.

Giving the EP away and asking those who enjoy it to share the link with their friends does help promote Andy and her music. She's letting the music and her talent be the marketing and asking those who love it to pass it on.I noticed she put #payitforward in her social media posts.People aren't being forced to share it however and are doing it out of love for Andy and her music.People also are also not forced to watch her Music Mondays which is also another way she promotes her music and lets her audience get to know her better. She is an independent artist without a label backing her so she is responsible for marketing her music herself and for letting people know about her upcoming projects.

I agree, pink. The production on the EP is exquisite. Some of it even sounds orchestral. Her team should be pleased. And, it is a bit short, in terms of CDs, but it is over 16 minutes, which is not bad for a free EP. I could see it playing on loop for a holiday gathering. Indeed, I'm going to a mixer Saturday and I am going to share it there. I was torn because the party falls during the time of Andy's StageIt concert, but the hostess was thrilled to hear about it. She said that we can watch it at the Christmas Ornament Party. Suffice it to say, this EP is truly a gift for which I am extremely appreciative, as is everyone with whom I have shared it.

Exactly. And there's nothing manipulative about it. The same is true for her StageIt concerts. There is no minimun ticket price, but some will choose to give freely because they understand that she and her musicians are putting in work.

I doubt Andy feels she needs security around her at this point but between some of the people commenting on her social media and some Prince fans, she may want to consider it

You're the one who obsessed about her all over the worldwide internet for over a year.

If Andy does ever get to the level where she needs security, it wouldn't be me she would have to worry about. wacky
