Morris Day NEW SONG "One Night Stand"

Featuring Snoop Dogg.

I don't know how to post YouTube videos on here from my phone but perhaps someone can help with that? Alternatively, it's most likely available on Spotify and whatever else if you want to give it a listen.

As for the song itself, not really my cup of tea but I'm sure some people on here will enjoy it.

Wow, only two responses to a new Morris Day song thread. I guess he's not as popular with the org as I would have thought.
I didn't like the song at first but it's grown on me. I still think he's capable of doing so much better but hopefully there'll be a new album soon and we'll get a few The Time-type songs on it.

Fun and funky. Better than anything on his last solo album.

Morris isn't changing his formula, just giving it a contemporary sheen, but for a more mature or soul/funk crowd, this would get the party moving.

Fun song. biggrin I still play The Time--er, The Original Seven's last album. Like that one a lot. Still disappointed they didn't tour behind it.

You won't get a new album with Time-type songs because the guy who wrote them (don't know if you've heard) is no longer with us.
I wish u heaven

Yeah, I think I remember hearing something about that but I wasn't sure. Nobody on here was really talking about it.

But when I say I want a new album with songs that sounds like classic The Time, I'm not suggesting they should go to their old songwriter (whoever he was). Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, and Jesse Johnson for that matter, are well capable of producing that classic sound. There were shades of it on The Original 7ven album.

Morris Day & Snoop Dogg Team Up On A Funky New Song & It’s A Players Ball

Morris Day is a legend of Funk and R&B that has not done much in the way of Hip-Hop collaboration. Slug & Murs named a song after The Time front-man, and he’s been shouted out in legions of lyrics (from D12 to Nas, Wale to Jean Grae). However, short of Ice Cube affiliate K-Dee’s “Gigalos Get Lonely Too” back in 1994 rehashing The Time’s 1982 cut of the same name, the 59-year-old Twin Cities native has been a bit reclusive when it comes to his music, let alone grooving with others.

That changes when Morris Day links with Snoop Dogg. “One Night Stand” is self-explanatory subject matter, as two masters of seduction make an anthem about no-strings-attached love. The music is busy, with splashes of synth, distorted vocals, and a Funk pocket. It’s a players ball. The song is produced by 1500 Or Nothin (The Game, Lupe Fiasco, T.I.).

Snoop has worked with a who’s who of ’70s and ’80s Funk and R&B musicians during his career. George Clinton, The Gap Band, The Dramatics, Babyface, and The Isley Brothers are just a few examples. In 2008, during his Ego Trippin’ campaign, Snoop covered a 1981 hit by The Time, “Cool.”

Earlier this year, Morris Day released single “Over That Rainbow” as a dedication to his friend and collaborator, Prince. He collaborated with Bruno Mars during 2017’s Grammy Awards in a tribute.

Less than one month ago, Snoop released eight-song EP, Make America Crip Again.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
