Yeah it was on her personal fb, i personally don't need details but obviously his fans do if they didn't we wouldn't have multiple threads about this subject. I'm happy thats shes straightforward and not vauge towards his fans

I don’t need details on any of this. Personally I wish they’d all adopt Shelby’s won’t spill any tea. Also saying you’ll elaborate more when you feel like it isn’t being straightforward. If she really did respect P she’d respect his privacy.

Well.some will have to get over the " respect his privacy" mindset because people will talk, i wish it was that way but it's not..prince is dead it would be unrealistic to believe that people in his camp will remain hush hush forever

Sure but I don’t have to respect the ones who don’t. And I’m talking about very private things which his health would fall right into that category. Of course I lost a lot of respect for Elisa when she had a go at Shelby for the timing of her album release. She tried to walk it back but the damage was done. She of all people should know how hard it is to make it in the industry. Of course Shelby knows the majority of initial buyers of her album will be Prince fans so why wouldn’t she release it when she’s around lots of Prince fans (i.e. buyers). Also Prince knew she was working on the album and had heard most of it. Were he still alive he probably would have been promoting it like he did with Liv Warfield.

I know you think understanding P's death is prying.. But the problem with keeping it secretive is that the inconsistencies are already out there which leads to mystery and conspiracy theories which often are more extreme than the reality and overshadow the life the person led. (like how Kennedy's presidency is discussed less than conspiracy theories about his death are...

shelby's album release still seems like shitty timing (as did Mayte's book.) Maybe she has a justification . According to Shelby, P encouraged her to produce it herself and to own her masters and knew about her making it. So, I guess you could say it was a tribute to him in a roundabout way. But it still doesn't sit well with me that no one can just say something nice about Prince or his talent without it eventually coming back to serving the person talking. Shelby never seems to have a bad word to say abotu anyone and I like that about her. But she also doesn't seem to care who she hangs with at all. I hope I am wrong, but I am starting to suspect an opportunist (who may not totally release how she comes off like one) . For example, the story just posted from her about meeting MJ at the 3121 performance. NO mention of the bass in the face (which I am kind of grateful for). prince introduces her to MJ. He says (after seeing a Prince show) how great of a singer she is and shakes her hand. On her facebook , she has a new series of podcast about Prince adventures. the first one was of her being taken by P (with Kiran Sharma) to Italy to see Ana Moura. Shelby is very very sweet about Ana and her talent and very grateful for getting to tour Italy, but very little of the story is actually about Prince.

To be honest, i am not sure what I think about Elisa either. She did an interview the day of his death and seemed fine. She may not be making money off his death (which I appreciate) but releasing a non-profit Prince tribute album still could get her attention and be beneficial to her. She did mention having had a relationship with Prince in the past (which was a bit unncessary) but her stories on facebook about P with her daughter were lovely and she seems to geniunely like the man. She also took back what she said about Shelby not because Shelby embarassed publically but because she talked to her privately and was hurt by them.

But I hate that Elisa is annoyed with people being cryptic but still doesn't explain what incident she is talking about. I still enjoyed her interview and do feel like more people should be asking for justice for Prince. It just seems like P was the only one held accountable for this death and that enablers and suppliers should at least share part of the accountability (even if it is just through a bit of public shaming, regret and humility.) Drug addicts lack control over their lives and have a disease (and their "cancer" is something sold and given to them by others.)...their deaths are never just their faults.

I listened to her Facebook Live. She was explaining the story behind that photo and also talking about upcoming things in her career/life. It’s her Facebook page I wouldn’t expect it to be all about Prince. I’ve listened to numerous interviews with Shelby and she’s never not given credit to Prince or been grateful for what he did for her. You can question whether she’s being sincere or not but I have no reason to believe she isn’t. There’s a reason she worked with him for 10 years (and possibly be working with him now if he was still alive).

As far as what happened with Prince, I couldn’t care less about the conspiracy theories and crazy people out there. None of that is mainstream and never will be. Also I don’t think that’s what (some) fans are really concerned about. Some fans think it’s up to others to provide ‘closure’ for them. There was no public memorial so they want to know the details around his death. Whether it was as simple has he had chronic pain and got hooked on painkillers or had an illness or a combination of both does it matter? Knowing that isn’t going to bring him back. Also I think if there really was foul play involved in his death we’d know about it by now.

The question is Why are they hush hush at all? Estates cannot sue for defamation. People are free to say what they like. How come we do not have people telling us Prince was stoned out of his ass everyday? Who did he party with and when did he have the time to be high out of his ass? That he had no health issues and just used drugs for shits and giggles.

How come if he had some health issue we do not hear more about that? By this time people he did not know anything do know something and they find the time to continue to be crytic enought to draw a little attention to themselves but not give anything a way.

Maybe these people are not telling anything because their is nothing to tell about and the narrative of the drug addict who is out of control is a fairy tale or a half told tale.

Does she discuss his surgery and how that tied into? The only person who actually worked for him and spoke it about this in a bit of detail was Scotty when he said that Prince was in a lot of pain during the Musciology Tour. We really her not hearing too much else about his health issues which I believe caused these problems. It is real easy to only give half the story to keep the media coming back to you for the bits and pieces. If we do not know the whole story tell us.
