I read that Susannah may need money due to her divorce and her ex's
Non payment of spousal support. So may she is hurting for money??

Yeah, they're ratty old legwarmers, but apparently, they're part of the outfit from his first live shows, if you read the description (and if I recall correctly).

.

If you think about them that way, they're not too dissimilar from selling stage-used gear like Sheila is doing (which is something I don't think either of us expressed a problem with).

right,

I remember earlier this year or late last year

I think it was Mary Bardaoux the personal assistant for Prince & his proteges

put up some things like the voodo doll, the Camille album press etc

My hope is for Jill to get a proper respected voice to future reissues. And definately her 1987 album as a deluxe

The people who just want her tweeting and FB posting, don't look at it from a bigger picture.

It is possible the estate/PP heard of a lot of the gripes JJ put out on social media, and I think she did have a verbal altercation with PP people. And wasn't Kirk at this event? Didn't JJ go off go after Kirk, calling him a liar? I don't know why people are putting the issue on the Revolution, when the Kirk angle could be IT

Could be it was the JJ and Kirk angle, he was there.

I read the post, and it was up somewhere, I cannot find it

Why does Susananna not get a job? Many women who are single moms work. You also realize there is a rumor going around that Prince gave her money a few years ago.

It was Karen Krattiger who put up the Voodoo doll and the Camille album. Karen actually made the Voodoo doll and apparently made copies of every scrape of paper he ever wrote on and keep his check book. She is a tool.

Actually the legwarmers were giving to Susanannah to keep warm so it was a personal item he gave to her along with a cross and the proposal notes. This is different then someone selling an old hat they wore on stage. These are nasty legwarmers from over 30 years ago. Why did she not just throw them out? It is gross and disgusting.

As far as Sheile is concerned she sold old gear and stage wear. She claims she has letters and mementoes that she will never sell maybe because she has class and actually works for a living.

Hopefully that person will have enough commonsense to throw them out. I doubt she is going to get anyone to pay for them so she had better get a trash bin ready or better yet go get a job.

Sheila is selling stage gear. Susannah is selling jewelry worn on stage and weird art she doesn't want anymore. What else should she do with it? Burn it? It's hers. She can do what she wants with it. I wouldn't want to keep it either.

I never said it was not hers to sell and the truth of the matter is if you do not think it is weird and gross to hold on to some stinking leg warmers for over 30 years than that tells me a lot about you and Shameless Sue. This is not Sue's stage gear this is Prince grimey legwarmers that he had around his thighs. She should have thrown it away and if she thinks she is going to get $7500 for them she is smoking crack. The words "Remarkable" is hysterical to me.

Prince flaunts his fashion at the Capri Theater during an early solo show
Description

Remarkable pair of gray knit leg warmer-style leggings worn by Prince during his first-ever solo shows at the Capri Theater on January 5-6, 1979, each measuring about 30″ long. In very good to fine condition, with a few holes and tears from significant use. From the collection of si...g the 80s. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Susannah Melvoin.

Prince gave these leggings to Melvoin to keep warm during filming of Purple Rain in the winter of 1984. The period Prince wore these legwarmers is consequential to the legacy he would begin to create in the world of music and fashion. During these early solo shows at Minneapolis’ Capri Theater, Prince, then only 20 years of age and a relative newcomer to the Warner Bros. roster, used these stage performances to further develop his singular fashion style and stage persona. Given their timeframe and stage-worn status, these leggings epitomize the blossoming sense of fashion and creativity Prince would soon be forever remembered.

A photo of Prince wearing these leggings was taken by Greg Helgeson, and may be seen in an excellent article about t...ter shows.

So you are saying Prince gave Susannah some 'stinking (gross) leg warmers'?

If he gave them to her in 1983/84 do you think they were gross and stinking?

And from that time on wouldn't they be hers?

I never said they were not hers to sell. I would think after 30 years or so these things would not be in good shape and old clothes do smell. You do not dry clean leg warmers. It is gross and weird but if you want to pay $7500 go ahead and knock yourself out and keep ignoring the obvious.

You can wash leg warmers they aren't under garments they are like sweaters for your legs. Dancers keep them for years and prefer them when they start to look old and used. I love leg warmers! They are most def cool. I don't get why she would part with them. She kept them all these years either because she was sentimental or because she wanted to later make a buck. The timing seems like the latter. How could she part with the things if they held sentimental value???

the movement of death among people is a strange thing.

.

I know a woman who loved her husband, was right by his side in all his ventures.
But when he died, she shut it all down, buried him, got her hair done differently and moved away.

.

A coworker of mine passed away in 2007 -wonderful human -was assisting a friend in Africa in getting a successful modern well, contracted malaria, when he was coming back to the states is when the Louisianna travesty occured. As soon as he was adjusted he volunteered to help out down there without pay from his job. He stopped taking the medicine for a day when he reentered the states and became sick. After he got back a few months later he and some friends went on a hike on a mountain and he had a heart attack and died.

.

He had a wife and 2 junior high age daughters, his father was still alive etc

.

I remember it was about 2yrs or a little less when a woman called me to say she had a bunch of thing of his she had to drop off. For some reason I thought it was a lady from the company that provides uniforms and such for us. I went out to meet her and it was my coworkers wife, she had a light smile on her face, and passed a box of his things to us. That revolved around his job. His job was a huge part of his life outside of work as well. She was done with a period of mourning.

the movement of death among people is a strange thing.

I am hearing you, the timing doesn't suit my personal internal clock. If Andre or the Time started doing these things wouldn't you think it weird?

cannot judge

Death is weird

it just fucks up everything

.

Now I'm still shaken up that Andre said when he left the band he never listened to another Prince album. Not till after Prince died. That is weird.

.

But death reminds us we could go at anytime. If messes up our ideas of 'possessions'

My parents gave me 'the talk' about 2 yrs ago. It was extremely weird and uncomfortable. They may live to see 100, but that isn't promised.

I was thinking about all this when Prince personal assistant Karen K started selling off things. last year.

.

Whose to say. Eric Leeds has things up there too, Susannah isn't the only one.

.

I've seen Prince albums being sold in eclectic music stores. People who obviously owned them and now parting with them. My reaction is 'Oh shhiii...' and then 'man how could they get 'rid' of this?' and then I think again that for some people his death means 'the party is over' I cannot say why they did.

.

Another 'weird' occurance since he passed is the tons of images private/professional that have and still are coming out everywhere. Why didn't people release these prior? Did they feel they were too special to share? where they afraid of any Prince kick back?
