You know, I'm going to present another side to things here, just for something to think about.

TPH is dressed up like Prince or an 80s protegeé. People have been clamoring for a Prince episode of Empire. Now it's happening, but to what extent? When a big star comes on a show, or something like their music is highlighted, it is often so over-promoted that once you see it, it's either a huge letdown, or it snaps you out of the fantasy of the show.

"Ohh, look what Cookie is doing...."
(plays "Delirious")
"Oh, that's my shit right there! HEEEYY!"

Are we just going to get Tarji having an on-screen moment of imitating Prince - poorly? Are people going to see it as legit because Morris Hayes is (or possibly other NPG members are) present? It's a bit like people getting hyped up over GLEE. I don't need a Madonna episode. We have Madonna. Why people get so excited hearing a cover song is beyond me.

I don't know how Empire is going to play out, if TPH is going to sing or not, or the details of the episode. But I do hope the inclusion of Prince music is more organic to the episode, rather than "Cookie does her thing, Lucious counters, Andre fucks a white girl, Jamall fucks a white boy, Hakeen raps about fucking white people. Pause - Prince song. Next scene - as if nothing with Prince ever happened". Because if you can take out the Prince music/scene and still have a fully coherent and moving story, then it's being inserted for the sake of it. That would be pretty typical and boring.

It appears as though Hannah Welton was also there on set.

You don't have to "easy" me. I'm easy like Sunday morning.
