Loved the interview..loved the interview he did with Dr Funk too. What a great insight into Prince's life and work. Dave sounds refreshingly open, as did Scottie. Ok...Michael Dean is on fire again smile

Something Dave said in the interview is that he was in fact asked to assist with the project to work on Prince's vault or something like that. However, the unprofessional way in which he was approached turned him off. If I read between the lines correctly, Dave makes a certain amount of money and would need to get a contract or something on paper to take on the job. Those running Paisley offered him nothing or not enough to take on the kind of work required. Unfortunately, with the release of the deluxe just one day after the Hampton interivew - i can totally understand hwat Dave is talking about. THe remaster sounds like a bag of SH**...the vault tracks, although incredibly interesting, do not sound good. Now..I will be fair in that the tapes were 35 years old and may have simply deteriorated which is why we hear such bad sound....but why the team chose Velvet Kitty Kat and not All Day All Night, or G Spot or Baby You're A Trip or why theywould include Katrina's Paper Dolls and keep the extended 17 Days on the shelf is just plain bad decision making. The vault cd is aweseome but if you want to catch the public's attention and fascnation with the vault, why would you leave out so many outstanding unreleased cuts?

Anyway, I have so little faith in those running the place that my hopes of a Sign O The Times remaster are completley gone...Around the World in A Day..gone. These guys are not good.....and do not seem to care. A remaster doe snot mean...'turn the volume up'.

Awesome Dave - pls keep up the interviews.

Michael Dean - hahah...you are good man.

Just got around to listening to this. It was one of the best intreviews- no shade, no agenda.

I enjoyed his take on what Prince meant to theworld and the value of his legacy and why people are trying to control the narrative even if that means not telling the truth.
