We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Even bad publicity is publicity and what he definitely is after. The good news is Jubilent Juda won't get past the very few moments of shame he gets to have under Prince's name. lol

No one said he had no talent. It is just weird to keep talking about Prince when he ran off with his wife.

IMHO Eric has been getting exposure that he hasn't had in YEARS by riding P's coat tails since his death.

Prince wasn't married to her at the time. Not really getting people's issues with this. A hell of a lot of artists looked up to Prince, he happens to be one of them. He also happens to have a great falsetto, so it would be natural for him to tackle Prince songs.

There are far less talented people milking the purple bandwagon.

I saw Eric Benet live around the time of The Rainbow Children album. He was very Prince-ish even then. He didn't wear a shirt most of the show and at one point jumped off-stage to give a lap dance to a girl. biggrin

Oh I"m saying he has no talent. No charisma, no originality, guy next door type of person. Artisicatlly, he can hear the music, has rhythm, can sing, looks good, ..but I won't call this talent.

Saw him live about 9 years ago. I woudn't say he's lacking in stage presence at all.

In Prince's world, where one is used to a musical genius with a tremendous charisma, a powerful stage presence, a unique persona, a powerful visionary, a world renowed megastar, it is rather difficult to find a stage presence in someone like ...Bonet/Benet/Bonnet/Bénet/ whatever his correct name is. I've seen all kind of spelling in this website which is a testimony of people not caring much about him. Respectfully.

You actually believe they did not hook up before hand. I already found the information about Eric's touring company "Smitty Boykins" and how this company received money from L4OA. "Smitty Boykin" is not a non-profit. It would mean Eric had a connection to Prince and M2 who I believe was running the charity before Prince and M2 divorce.

See below.

Wanted to post the Love 4 One Another Charity information I found. I could not get the document to paste so I retyped it. The Bridge fund was for the Minneapolis Bridge Collaspe that took place on August 2 2007 so we can put a date on this for 2007 or 2008.

Notice that he gave money to M2 charity and to a company called Smitty Boykins which was and still is owned by Eric Benet. Why would Prince's charity loan or give money to the man his wife married after there divorce. M2 was an operator.

The same women who Dr. Funkenberry said stopped speaking to and he had to relay the message to Prince about the school. Okay I want to sell you the Brooklyn bridge.

With the information that's in the open and in legal files either Prince played puppet for this woman for a very long time or a lot of these rumors that are swirling about aren't true. It's one or the other. I don't believe he played anybody's puppet, so a lot of this he said, she said stuff isn't true and isn't worth repeating. I like facts.

I believe the moment Prince realized Smitty Boykin was Eric Benet and M2 was just another hanger-on who 'took things from him 'that marriage was OVER.

For a guy who boasted often that he 'couldn't be played' he sure got played a LOT by his second wife. I think Prince 'protested too much' about his saavy ways with women and if he had been paying closer attention to what was going on in his own marriage, instead of being on the prowl in LA, his wife wouldn't have been inclined to slip her lover a 50K token of her appreciation for his attentions to her...or maybe it was part of the nest egg for her big break away. That's in the public record posted below. It's a fact.

Do you think that he really knew who Smitty Boykin was, though? I hope he knew.

---I think they both were playing each other. In the end Prince got off finacially pretty easy which in the end means he did come out on top.
