Am listening now to it.. I really don't agree with most of their review smile

.

This album (while better than Vanity 6) lacks a killer track, although side 2 is pretty good. I've been waiting for years now for a good sounding version of A Million Miles by Prince. I'd also love A Spanish Villa in an instrumental version, it's actually really nice, much better than later instrumentals like Alexa de Paris. It's almost as good as Venus De Milo. Best track is probably Some Kind Of Lover, I like the push that the bass gives to this track. I also like that they picked up on the Pretenders vibe.

.

The silly Oo She She Wa Wa is in the vein of Poom Poom, Make Up and Tick Tick Bang for me.

.

All in all, I like this album, and if it would have been released without side 1, this would have been one of the better Prince sidekick albums that, for a change, doesn't sound very Prince-y.

I love the album cover. I think it is better than the Vanity 6 cover. Weakest track - Oooh she waa waa. Strongest track - Blue Limousine. Why was'nt that a big hit? It's brilliant.

Anyone have a gif of the line notes/credits? I remember 1 song was credited to Sheila E I think.

THey said Sheila played drums on one of the songs, but I wonder if it was she or Prince.

If I remember correctly,Sheila is credited for the drums on "A Million Miles (I Love You)".I have the vinyl album somewhere (with the liner notes),I just gotta go through the crates to find it smile

I agree. This song had "Top 10 hit single" written all over it.Not sure what went wrong. It didn't receive any real promotion at all.It was released as a single but I never heard it on any of my local radio staions.

I don't like side 1 of the album, including Blue Limousine. I never understood that it was made a single. I prefer anything from side 2 to anything from side 1. Different strokes and all...

.

A Million Miles or Some Kind of Lover are the standout tracks, I suppose. I'd love an instrumental version of In A Spanish Villa, it's a nice dreamy Santana tribute...

I agree,"Ooh She She Wa Wa" is the album's weakest track.Susan should have demanded a better, stronger song to sing smile on this album,Brenda was given the best songs."Blue Limousine" is the album's highlight, imo

I found an online credit listing and that's what it says.

I wonder though. The drumming sounds like Prince.
