This is the REAL Mayte. She has always resented her paltry divorce settlement from Prince. She was mad because she didn't get that "Purple Rain money," but now she's making up for it. This book is strictly about the vast fortune that she is poised to make by exploiting Prince's name and selling her so-called truth. Shame on her. I predict this shameless, mercenary money-grab is going to backfire on her.

In the event that the link doesn't work, which has been known to happen on selected links on the org, here is the direct link to the Hollywood Exes clip that can be copied and pasted into your browser:

No. I have no intention of lining Mayte's pockets. Besides, it is likely ghost-written and heavily edited. Have you viewed the clip that I posted? What do you think of her unscripted words?

what's so awful about that clip? So what if she felt she got the shaft where $ is concerned. She is around all those other ladies who are set for the rest of their lives because of who they were married to- no matter how short a time- and I'm sure she was feeling like, "I was married to someone with a lot of money--- why do I have to worry about lunch money for my child?"

Right?? And, now, Mayte should just own up to her true motives: She's all about money...and perhaps posthumously repaying Prince for "shafting" her in the divorce settlement. Really, for divorcing her in the first place.

As she said in the clip, because her son died, she didn't get child support from Prince. Now, by extension, her son is not here as heir to P's vast estate. Meaning, she has no access to his estate. Thus, she has decided to cash-in the only way she can: selling her version of very personal, selective memories, while she knows very well that Prince would not approve. Of course, she could have just continued on her Prince tribute belly dancing tour, but that money is peanuts in comparison to the book money.

It's amusing to me that people complain about all this cashing in but some how it doesn't apply to Mayte. IMO it applies to her more than anyone else. We all know there's no way she'd be releasing this book if Prince was still alive.

And to make sure her book came out first before buyers get burned out on postmortem prince books, and to make sure it came out around the first anniversary of his death, so main stream news would be more likely to cover her book

She could be one of these ladies but she choose not to pursue it for whatever reasons, so why envy the other women? She did not adopt this child with Prince, so why should his name be brought up in regards of the care of the child. If you are adopting a child on your own, what did she think that would entail. She was not destitute during or after the marriage. There are people who are really struggling financially.

Obviously this is all true. I don't have a problem with Mayte or her book. I read it I liked it, I ordered a few copies for friends, but, let's be honest- all of this is true. And with all of them- The Revolution, Manuealla and Eric- all of them are trying to benefit from Prince's death because, now they can. They know none of this would happen if he were here but he isn't and I think if you get down to bare bones- yes they respect him yes they all loved him but now, now they can all make that money.

Thank you for posting this. How many of us have been trying to tell people about this women. You got this and her IG post but some how the words coming out her mouth she cannot be held responsible for. She is the worst vulture because she is using their dead son. I do not care what anyone has to say about Prince he never open his mouth about this woment to the media and he had enough money and power to quash her like a bug but he let it go.

I am not even going to discuss that racist friend of hers. How does a women who was married to a black man associate with such a person

Unfortunately, it still won't matter to her most diehard fans. I would like to see someone playback this footage for her during a major interview and have her explain her words. And, after that, I'd like to see them ask tough follow-up questions. If that were to happen, she would be exposed and her book tour would likely come to an abrupt end. She would stop doing interviews.

I actually heard that podcast the other day. I found it ineresting. There's a varity of perspectives and everyone seemed to have an OPEN mind and listened to different perspectives without judging. I get that everyone has a different opinon but the blind Mayte hate is annoying. If people don't like it then they don't have to read it. Some prince fans hate on Mayte the way many MJ fans hate on Lisa Marie Presley. it's extreme and unrelenting. Definitely fanatical vs being a friend.
