"Mean and low class" exactly describes this book written "out of love" that's creating all the negative talk about Prince on the anniversary of his death. These ladies see the circumstances of this book, the intent of it. They cared about/loved Prince and want to stand up for his reputation. If Mayte and her band of angels can't stand to be held up for public scrutiny then she shouldn't have put Prince's legacy up for public scrutiny after the man has died. Apples and the other ladies haven't said anything that crossed a line. Can't stand the heat don't turn on the damn stove!

I think she's standing the heat just fine. Her book is doing very well, her interviews are great and her book signings are fantastic.

Yeah normally when people put out movies or books they have a press tour, so I guess it is all free advertising...nothing wrong with that.

Penny, you've really got the wrong idea here. You were the one acting like you had bragging rights or some such thing over the list and I simply passed along info someone had passed along to me. Truthfully, neither you nor I know what she does about anything at all. So come back to earth with the rest of us here and calm down, not sure why you are being so weird over this stuff. There's no need to lose your mind over it.

Not lost my mind over it at all. It's just becoming ridiculous when facts are posted and yet everyone can even skew those facts, all because Mayte is doing well with this book. Fact is she is on the best seller list, and I highly doubt that she bought her way there.

Well put. Mayte and her "fans" are living in a fantasy if they think the general public are not going to critical of the book regardless of how well it sells. Mayte agreed to exploit Prince's personal life for fame and money by using the excuse she wrote the book "out of love". Every celebrity has to deal with scrutiny and critical questions about their art and any contradiction about their statements. There's a reason why Prince kept her at a distance because he could probably sense her thrist for attention no matter whose expense it comes at. Apples probably saw the bullshit and didn't want to support an endeavor so controversial.

People interested in Prince bought the book. This is why she put his face centre stage on the book cover, which i heard by the way is not a real photo but a mock up by a fan.

Everyone here worried about this book... sheeesh, you all know Mani will write a book then the org will blow up. Heck, Eric Bonet is doing P songs in concert now.
