JJ had an awful post on the boycottmayte instagram page which has been removed .It basically ranted about what her mum had to do sexually to get Maytes tape to P. I will qualify that JJ has said her FB account had been hacked .I don't know if that affects the IG account |

I don't why there is hate for Jill. There are awful things that go down at times and desperate or determined people may do certain things. Groupies are groupies for a reason. I am not calling M1's mom a groupie. I am saying Jill is legit. She has been there, done and seen various sides of music business and the culture that goes with it. Agreed. As a woman it's absolutely bizarre to me in that it's so disrespectful to her then husband. Appolonia stated plainly during assorted press junkets and interviews during the 80s that she was simply an actress, a happily married one at that, who was casted for Purple Rain through her agency (which is the way that generally works, btw) , and that she never had any romantic involvement with Prince. Now she feels like his widow? Lord, talk about rewriting a history that you've already clearly laid out. I'd be lying if I didn't admit I'm inclined to give Appolonia the side eye. Also, people keep acting like Mayte didn't do anything- just married Prince -- Of course, she was nowhere Prince status but she did perform with the NPG for years and worked her ass off. Those performances were a lot of work for all involved and she didn't just marry him and sit on the sidelines, she put in the work and that accounts for something. | |
