And I too am thankful for the time period of music.

They play some instruments on the song (percussion and a sitar-like sound), but it's a bit hard to hear because Prince buried their contribution in the mix. If you compare the final version on SOTT with the demo for Dream Factory where you can hear W&L more clearly, you will notice W&L's input on the final version is almost non-exictent. But I barely rarely ever see you talk much on threads about the NPG or 3rd Eye Girl, maybe I missed it.
