I saw this on FB. Morris's account of his conversation with Prince (where he addressed certain rumors that were going around) was very interesting...

"I would say that Prince's top thirty percent is great. Of that thirty percent, I'll bet the public has heard twenty percent of it." - Susan Rogers, "Hunting for Prince's Vault", BBC, 2015

I agree. Very interesting indeed! Makes me wonder...

Also enjoyed the story of what happened when a guitar tech handed Prince an out-of-tune guitar.

Thanks Latin!

If I heard him right he said Prince told him he had never taken a week off before? I believe Damaris said she told Prince after the plain incident that he needed to take a vacation and get some rest. My theory has always been that he basically worked himself to death. Even if something else like illness was going on I still believe that. sad

-He died from an overdose but working himself death was the real cause. He appears to have never actually taken a vacation if we find out down the road joint problems back in the 90s he was in the road to killing himself.

I was also wondering when it was.
And I did have the feeling as others did when our Prince first passed on that one really has to take care of themselves in that business.
But the big thing I noticed was that Prince was giving it away all the time (big checks to schools etc.).

--I think it is somewhere around the 30 min mark but it is not anything earth shattering. He asked Prince directly about drug use because he was hearing rumors and one day Prince was really driving the band hard more so than usual. Prince told him it was not drugs and that he was just intense about the music. He did say that Prince told him he had not had a day off from music his whole life and that he was going to take a week off. Morris said Prince came back after a week and let him know he had appreciated his concern.
