I just read an article that stated Tyka says "that she hopes the tribute concert brings closure to the

fans". I am surely not meaning to be disrespectful and I have not spoken much although I have

thought plenty. Actions speak far louder than words and the time for caring about fams is months

past.

I get a strong sense it's time to pull back now, because i really think I have an idea what's coming down honestly.

I am so worried that things are going to fly south on the whole thing. So I feel you may be thinking

like I do.

I feel like people are ready to wrap this up and go on with their lives, this really isn't their world, it was Prince's. So, we'll see.

That's right. Maybe just too much pressure from the start due to inexperience and lack of knowledge, along with dealing with the loss and grieving. There is a lot of stress just dealing with the estate and I'm sure that is where their focus is. It can't be easy. I feel that if they don't focus on business it will have a devestating affect on everything involved. I think their lives are in the spin cycle and they are ready to stop and breath a minute. Right or wrong, good or bad, my prayers are with them. They are human and they need positive support, love, and respect. After all life is about making mistakes and learning from them.

We have not read the contract between the Graceland group and the Estate, but I understand it is for four years. Now, the group has invested money in PP to bring it up to code, etc. There must be a provision that, if they don't make X amount of dollars by a certain date, they can terminate the agreement, with said termination costing the Estate X amount of dollars. Does anyone really believe that in two years there will be a tremendous amount of interest in PP as a tourist attraction? How many Prince fans are going to be trekking to Minnesota for a two-hour tour? It is not as if the site is near Manhattan or Los Angeles, where there is something else to do. There will be massive amounts of snow for a good part of the year. My belief is that the heirs would probably want money and to let PP and the music go. I read that they didn't even know each other (at least two didn't know the others) before that fateful day, and Prince was not part of their lives on a consistent basis, except for Omar and Tyka. These siblings are regular, working class people; the Powerball is nearly within reach for them. What do you think they will do? My guess is that within five years they will be out of the PP and music business.

True, of course in that time PP could gain enough momentum to carry itself which I believe is the goal.

As far as the family is concerned I think that for most of them this is not their life they really have not interest in this life so it'll burn out fast for them, but there are others involved I think not just blood relations.

I don't hate Tyka, knew of her when she released her album Royal Blue. I am however disappointed by her.

This is why:

1- The private memorial is fine, but there was no public memorial citing the fact that Prince was a JW, but Michael Jackson and his family were JW's also... and they held a public memorial for the fans. The Jackson family understood MJ was a beloved celebrity, and I was hoping Tyka understood that also. It did not have to be televised, but a gesture to help Prince's many fans have some type of closure... many would have to find closure in their own way. I am hopeful that in the future a cenotaph is erected on PP property for those of us who want to say goodbye without the pressure to move on because of the flow of a tour and foot traffic.

2- The messiness of the courtroom drama of Tyka suing her siblings in court for a larger share of the estate, her claim is that she is the only full blood relative of Prince so that she should receive a larger portion of the estate. I will not argue that right, if she thinks it is her right, so be it... I just find it disappointing that the Nelson family is doing battle in court. sigh

3- There is no accounting for taste I suppose because I dislike the urn design and I think it looks rather cheesy, and that Fisher Price Little People looking urn can not possibly be anything Prince would ever want. That man had style, and that urn is NOT it. No one can move me from that opinion, don't even try. smile

The entire money grabbing tour thing, I am cool with, even cool with the urn at PP (I wish it was not front and center as the 1st thing people see also, ugh!), I understand a need for money and to keep things running and alive at PP. I wish her family comfort and healing during their time of grief.

I always thought Prince distance himself away JW during final years. But he was quiet about it. I dont think he was disfellowship or officially left the organization. My JW associate said some of the things Prince did would be grounds for disfellowship but the reason why it was overlook due to his celebrity status. Like Jill Jones said in one of her comments that Prince presented himself differently to the fans and to the public and then to privately.

Yeah Tyka need to realize the law is the law regardless of her being a full sibling.

But I agree with your post overall.

Agreed, he might have been on a "probation" because of his divorce and inability to go knocking on doors. I think the JW churches around him wold not ostracize him completely because of his contributions (financial) most likely.

They all know each other. They all were at this wedding and he took all of them to Paris back in 86. They all knew each other when they received money from their Dad's estate.

You can goggle or go to the court docs page to find this info. They may let PP go at some point but I doubt they will sell the music. You can make a lot of money licensing it out for movies and commercials and doing reissues. They may have to partner up with a record company to do it but it can be done. Selling the music outright would not get them the money they could get in the long run by keeping it You also have to factor in their ages. Some of them are not going to be around in a decade or so. Most of the work in going to fall on Tyka and Omarr and their children.

Stop thinking that because people are blue collar they are not intelligent. Prince came from this family and he made out well for himself.

I agree, I was feeling similar myself. Like everything Prince was so intense and such a cut throat 'attack anyone associated with Prince, all the conspiracy talk, everyone is out to get money off of Prince etc like a bad break up of a long term relationship... U just want to disassociate for a while
