She is trashy with this post and the "interview" she gave right after his death where she disclosed private details regarding their sex life. I wonder how much they paid her for that? Obviously, personal dignity is something one can't buy.

Moreover, I've always thought that to describe someone as a "fancy lesbian" is derogatory (ironic coming from a lesbian who was clueless) and conforms to sterotypical notions of gender. Specifically Patriarchal heteronormative ideas on what a "man" is. They all may have loved P. but I've often wondered if they really knew or saw him for the being that he was? Sadly, I don't feel that anyone did as he didn't allow it and was protecting himself from being hurt. That is the joke of all of these ppl he didn't have contact with for years attempting to gain status through claims of being the one or knowing him so well. I wish they'd all show some class, just go away, or try and be decent and put the spotlight on all his LIFETIME of hard work and art (instead of themselves & their very limited if any role in it).

Yep

Carmen Electric (opened) for the Nude tour? so she was around in 1990 or even late 89?

Mayte was dancing (not as prominent) on the Diamonds & Pearls tour (2nd 1/2?)

and he was seeing Nona by 93/94 and chose Mayte to be his wife at the close of the Gold Experience

I don't know if he was still seeing actress Troy Beyer (in the video Sexy MF) though.

I found an Interview with Nona.. why is it that people think becuse he was out with that person at ahows etc that they were together:

I dont think he and Carmen or nona had anythimng other than a working relationship/fRENDSHIP WITH PRINCE.

Nona Gaye Hello Interview from 1994 (Talks Prince and Lovesign)

Hello magazine – October 1994

Interview by Barbara Pepe; photography by Brian McKellan

Photography can be seen in the NonaNet family gallery

"Nona: The artist formerly known as Prince.

Nona, how closely are you working with him now?

Nona: He’s doing my album, so we see each other quite often. I go to Minneapolis to work on the stuff. So we work closely together.

How would you describe your relationship with Prince?

Nona: He’s my best friend, that’s the truth. And that’s all I’m going to say.

How do you feel about the rumors that you two are much closer than that?

Nona: People can say whatever they want to say. That happens all the time. When you see two people hang out together you just assume. And people can assume as much as they like but, my business is my own business. He’s my best friend.
"

Nona has talked about their relationship and they were more than friends. If you do some Goggling you should be able to find many interviews with her. In addtion, their is a YOUTUBE video of a panel discussion were Vernon Reid said he was around the night at the Danceteria when Prince broke up with her. He was seeing Carmen, Mayte and Nona all at the same time.

Actually there is an interview with her and she said she did not give that interview to that tacky tabloid. She said they made the whole interview up. I will find it and post it later. I keep telling people on this board to stop believing stuff in the media about Prince right now. It is all being done to get clicks and some point someone will do a real in depeth look at his life later down the road.

It wasn't derogatory - it was a joke. Wendy and Lisa were asked if Prince was gay - and they said no, that Prince loved women - that he was sort of a fancy lesbian that way. The "fancy" referred to the way he dressed because very often lesbians are sort of...uhhh..."basic" in the way they dress.

It was also said in the context of Wendy saying that the first time she either saw or heard Prince (I can't remember which), she thought, "I could so fall in love with that girl."

It was all said in fun - they were not deriding him in any way.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

true

Lisa Coleman: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.

Wendy:
I remember being at that “Sexuality” video shoot and him on stage with
that little black jacket and that tie thing around his neck and his
black pants with white buttons on the side. And we looked at each other
for the first time and I thought, “Oh, I could so fall in love with
that girl easy.” It doesn’t matter what sexuality, gender you are.
You’re in the room with him and he gives you that look and you’re like,
“Okay, I’m done. It’s over.” He’s Casanova. He’s Valentino.
