"The devil will walk into a room with tears and will try to make you feel sorry for him." You said these exact words to me in 2014. "Jubilant Judas fakes tears."

eek Wish I knew what is meant by this! Even Andre Crutchfield referenced #ThievesInTheTemple! Why do us fans have to be left in the dark about this stuff? It's like ya know folks wouldn't have conspiracies and crap if someone/someones would just come forward and speak the truth! mad

^^ This. It's a beautiful post, albeit a few digs on others who have taken up the microphones and used his passing to their advantage (is she throwing digs at Sheila?). She's letting it be known she is working with the family on plans for PP and memorials. All these ex lovers coming into the fray will be interesting smile

You know, I'm starting to feel sorry for his sister Tyka. Geez. I can barely deal with my brother's ex-wife at the occasional kid graduation party. I can't imagine every ex-wife and girlfriend coming out of the woodwork claiming the prime spot as The Woman In His Life if he passed. I can't imagine what it must be like for Tyka to deal not only with P's death, but also the vast estate, crazy faux relatives, and just about every woman who ever had a relationship with him. I'd want to crawl into a hole right about now...

And I'm sure I'd be getting snippy with them right about now.

-/ Did he change or did he slow down a bit? At the end of his life it appears he was seeing a few different women. I also will mention an interview that Andre Cymone did were he talks about how his brother Eddie was a pimp and how Prince got an education in the Anderson household. T.C. Ellis also said that a lot of ex-pimps and hustlers settled in N.Minneapolis so they all grew up around these old hustlers and pimps. Ellis said growing up Prince was not a thug or a pimp but learned to carry himself that because of the people they grew up around.

He was seeing a few different women? Who? He told Rolling Stone he was celibate. Maybe he was lying but why would he feel the need to lie about something like that. Anyway I don't care if he was seeing someone or not, my issue is calling him a pimp. I think it's disgusting.

--/ I said seeing I did not say sleeping with and he also said in the article he slipped up sometimes. Do you want me to list the women we know who were hanging around and have been talking about being up at Paisley in the last few years. Do you really think he was just friends with Andy Allow since they were the same clothes and drawing hearts on each other's hands?

If I was Tyka I wouldn't want the responsibility of corralling all these various female personalities, Prince didn't so why should she, let them do as they wish and keep my mind on business, because truth be told and the end of the day who are the ones actually sitting on the throne.

Yeah, but they would still get on my nerves I think. I know they're grieving, but still.

All this "meant for Vanity" stuff is silly, really. If Vanity wanted that part, she could have had it. even remember one report saying Vanity was "lazy", and didn't want to work as hard as everyone else did.
Ultimately, she chose not to inhabit the role, which means it was up for anyone at that point. Whether it was Susan Lucci or Patricia Kotero who got the role, it was her role, not Denise's. At leas Apple's had acting skills under her belt. Denise, as great of a person as she was, had a cocaine vile under hers. neutral

The role was slated for Denise. She helped write parts of the Purple Rain story that was based on her life. Also, Denise had an acting and modeling career prior to meeting Prince. She left PR role mainly because she received a more lucrative movie/recording deal. I am sure it was a very difficult decision for Denise to make. Apples was chosen to fill Denise's role and the rest is history. smile This is not to take anything away from Apples.

I think the "cocaine vial under hers" comment is a pretty insensitive and unnecessary comment to make particularily since Denise is no longer here to defend herself. sad

She doesn't need to defend it, nor is it insensitive. She's plainly stated how she was high AF back then, and was for a long, long time. It's unfortunate. She told her story plenty.

Drugs wreck a body and a soul. They also make you make bad decisions. Slated for her or not, she walked away from it. It wasn't hers anymore, is my point. Believe me, I'd certainly have liked to see her in the role! It probably would have been more natural and organic to the whole crew, story, filming, etc.

Stop with the Vanity bashing. If she had a cocaine vile under her, then so did Prince. His brother confirmed that Prince used cocaine back in the day. Do you honestly think she was using it without Prince knowing about it or just with Morris Day? They were living together and extremely close. Whatever Vanity was, Prince was also. If you want to call her a drug addict and reference it every time she is mentioned, then you need to do the same thing with Prince. Everybody makes mistakes and bad choices in life, the difference with her and Prince is that they were able to make tremendous changes and move past those bad choices. Vanity went public with her drug use in the hopes of helping someone else who was battling a similar problem. One of those people was Prince himself. So leave her alone because her public confessions helped a lot of people.

I'm gonna stop you right there. No one is bashing Vanity. Far from it.

Christ, one little drug reference, and y'all lose your minds. If she admitted to using something, then why is it sudden taboo to mention it? She's talked about it endlessly on programs before her death. It was part of her testimony.

Let me take everyone back to my point. It was not about her drug use - it's that she walked away from the role, and that left it wide open for anyone else to take. That's the point. So to say "that was her role"...yeah well, not when she decided to do other things instead. Hey, it happens. A lot of people have walked away from roles that could have been good for them otherwise. Denise isn't the first or last, but it's who we're discussing here today.

It is interesting though how you threw Prince under the bus, just to make an argument for Vanity. "Well if she was doing it, so was Prince! So-in-so said so!" Pfft, come on. Let's be adults here, and have a healthy debate on things.

There are many, many movie roles written for one actor that ended up going to someone else for whatever reason. I think people have a hard time separating fact from fiction with PR, but it's really not that unusual. (And everyone thinks the chemistry would have been better with P and Vanity, too, but often real couples have the worst on-screen chemistry.) At the end of the day, it's Apples role. wink

Oh, I never thought of that! Did they actually start filming? At the recent Academy talk about PR with Albert Magnoli, Bob Cavallo, Apollonia, et al., Magnoli mentioned they were 4 weeks away from filming and had no female lead, and held auditions throughout the day, then he'd write and work on the script from 11pm-7am at night. So, I wonder if there's anything other than possible acting class or dance class footage, or something in that vein.

--- We had no verifiable sources that say they saw Prince Coke. We have a attorney telling us what he was told verbally and those two people are dead. Why don't you look into Duane's past he was a violent and mentally ill person who was not even a blood relative. Why is okay to not tear his character apart? I rember Vanity saying Prince did not do Coke when she was with him. In fact their was a story that they got into over her drug use. If one living person would come forward and say yea I saw him snorting coke and they are willing to be named okay I would say hey we are to something.

Estates cannot sue for libel or defamation do people are free to say what they want. Do you hear anyone saying anything?

Historically, anyone and everyone, casual associates and close personal friends consistently have stated that he was opposed to drugs and didn't use them.

Did Prince actually sit on the beach under an umbrella watching Apples surf while getting sand in his hair? Or is that something she is imagining because I just don't see Prince as a beachy type. Just cannot picture him on the beach in heels.

I've been wondering the same thing.
