Any way to express condolences to Kirk Johnson?

I guess that he was one of the most important people in Prince's life, and I guess he's having a much harder time than we will have.

If there's no special space to grant condolences to him, then I'd like to do it here.

Thank you for caring so much about our friend, and also thank you for the great drums on the 1998 albums, I really liked your "fresh" style.

I see Kirk appearing in so many different eras of Prince performances and even saw him in a Madhouse video the other day. He was definitely one of the closest, longest term people with Prince that we knew about (I believe Prince also had certain close friends that were not part of his pop life, that we don't even know about). I remember being around Kirk in person at Paisley Park at the last celebration back in 2002.

My heart goes out to his, likely, profound feeling off loss and trauma.

I wince at the fans turning their anger towards him. We have no true context being outsiders.

I like this thread because I have thought of him many times since 4/21. I also was disappointed in the hunger some people have had in apparently blaming him in some way for something that was no ones fault. People can be so heartless sometimes. Especially behind a computer.

I thank him for being such a good, trustworthy friend to Prince. I'm sorry for his loss. Theirs was a very long friendship and this has to be very difficult for him.

Although it is difficult, I feel I must remember that Prince would want us to be happy and live life. He's still here, just not in physical form, and we should take comfort in that.

I agree totally. I hope somehow these kind thoughts reach him. I think Kirk was a true friend and so much more than a band member. When I saw the photo of him carrying Prince's guitar off the helicopter for the New Year's eve concert, it makes me sad. It was clear, that Kirk was someone close to him and probably his best friend. People are cruel and we know nothing, but I am a sure as I can be that Kirk did his best for Prince.

I agree with you Prince was all about love and peace. He didn't get off on blame or showing hate. We'll never know the all and all. And while I'm at it, the showing love should extend to all of those that were ever in Prince's life including his past loves and past wife, Mayte. I've been so disappointed in the hate that has spewed. Can we just send Kirk our love and condolences and anyone else that was close to Prince at one time or another.

Forever Prince

Kirk was the absolute best right hand man/drummer that Prince ever had. He was a true friend and the nite that Paisley Park After Dark opened for a dance party, Prince told the crowd that Kirk had put the whole thing together. Prince had just had that emergency landing but wanted his fans to know that he was okay. Kirk put a Paisley PartyAfter Dark together with short notice. We all happily applauded, so grateful for Kirks' efforts for the nite and for being a close friend of Prince.

I hope no one would blame Kirk for anything. If Prince wanted to be alone, he was alone. And that is sad but it seems it was his choice. I only wish he knew of a comforting, loving relationship that lasted. But I think Prince was the Prince of Love heart and he was in Love with being in Love heart Wow just think about all that LOVE he gave the world with that musical love, that love will last forever. Then think of all the LOVE we were sending back to Prince, that man must have lived LOVE.

I was so excited to hear that Kirk was going to be drumming for Prince's new band. IMO, Kirk is the Best Drummer that Prince ever had!! I felt so lucky each time he was up there with Prince. His beat right on time, he melded perfectly with Prince everytime. Thank You Kirk for all that you did and prayers for your comfort and strength through this time of transition and acceptance rose heart rose
