Prayers for John Blackwell I read on instagram that while he was performing at a show he went numb in leg and arm. He went to the doctor and found he has two brain tumors. Just keep him lifted up
[There is no proof at this time of tumours as he is going through medical tests to find out what is wrong - luv4u]

Such a nice guy who has had too much tragedy in his life. Met John 2 weeks after Prince hired him, in Maui. He was so happy and excited and spent the week going into local clubs with Prince and just jamming! The first time I saw him he was wearing an NPG hat and I walked up to him and said, "you a Prince fan?" He say's "yea, and I'm the new drummer" with a big grin. I was like "Yo, John Blackwell and gave him the congrats hug that guys do." After he lost his daughter, he just never really seemed happy. Prayers for the man... |

Can someone confirm that this is indeed true? I saw the Instragram posting and wasn't sure if it was real. 2016 really needs to give it a rest if so....

Prayers to him if this is true. What in the world is up with this year? Life seems so unreal right now. Man....I hope he is doing well and makes it through this. Time for some plus signs in our water this year. Things need 2 get better.

"As many of you may be aware, I am in the process of getting tested for what the doctors think may be tumors in my brain. They are doing more testing and I have not been diagnosed with brain cancer as some may have been lead to believe. I do not want family and friends to be frightened by any rumors but I will not be able to talk with everyone nor will I be able to communicate daily through social media. I really hope it's not as serious as it sounds...
I consider myself very lucky to have seen him play with Prince on the ONA tour in 2002, dude is a madman on the drums!

I agree. Testing isn't difficult. I mean, it's tedious, and a chore, but it's probably one of many tests he's undergone to find out the source of the problem(s). Let's not plan a funeral before he's diagnosed.

Who is assuming what here? Being tested can be a stressful period of doubt and uncertainty...

Testing can be difficult too. For example, the dye they inject into people to take some scans makes some people sick.
A pap smear can be excruciating for a woman with endometriosis.
A mamogram can be very painful for a woman with fibrocystic breasts.
So let's just send good thoughts and leave it at that. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise. |

I did a contrast CT once. It gave me electrical crackling sensations in my mouth and a warm feeling throughout my body. Fun fun fun. |
