The NPG (Michael B, Sonny T and Tommy B) Present This Thing Called Life

Prince tribute with the NPG members that played with Prince back when I started going out to Paisley Park weekly or more for shows (Summer of '95 and on....) First two shows sold out right away so I'm happy that a 3rd show was added on Wednesday June 8 and I got tickets!! Should be good.

What charity this "tribute" is donating proceeds to? Anyone?

This says nothing about any charity. As I mentioed in the other thread i doubt they are making much off of this. Probably enough to cover production costs.

Michael B and Sonny T were the best rhythm section Prince ever had.

I went to the last show on Wednesday night.

Setlist (might be missing a couple)

Set 1:

1999

Little Red Corvette

DMSR

Free

Uptown

I Wanna B Your Lover

Controversy

Erotic City

Cream

Money Don't Matter 2Nite

Moonbeam Levels (!!!)

Computer Blue

Gold

Set 2:

Let's Go Crazy

Kiss

Sign O The Times

Purple Rain

Nothing Compares 2 U

Mountains

Willing & Able

Girls & Boys

Pop Life

She's Always in my Hair

America

Sometimes it Snows in April

The Cross

Band was smoking. Michael B, Sonny T, and Tommy B plus Julius Collins on vocals, There was guitar, another keyboard player, 3 backing vocalists including Sounds of Blackness’s fantastic Jameica Bennett and for the second set the Hornheads/NPG Horns , 5 piece horn section!!

It was fantastic and for the most part a funky celebration of his life and music although there were a few moments when tears flowed on stage, most notably on Sometimes it Snows in April , I swear everyone onstage was crying. Quite a night.

I went last Saturday and that setlist looks pretty much on to me.

Moonbeam Levels was sooooo cool, I was shocked.
