^ If properly licenced as stated it has to be legit. The 7'' edits must be quite rare because I never found any digital copy of them! If this sells well you can expect rereleases of Romance 1600 and Sheila E. (and maybe even Sex Cymbal) soon after! It is interesting though that it has to be a newborn, small eissue label: you'd have thought that after Prince's passing WB would have released it themselves via Rhino, but maybe the deal had been in the works for a while.

So what are the rights deals with the Vanity 6/Apollonia 6/Family/Madhouse stuff? NPG has had them for years and years right?

I know we've had basic reissues before but the bonus tracks are interesting here aren't they? Especially with the sad timing here...

WB only has the 6's, Sheila and The Time, and maybe a few other Paisley Park albums that weren't getting the regular PP contract. The Family may be one of them as a very early PP album but it's unknown. Madhouse is definitely NPG Records.

There also may be contractual complications with at least The Time, maybe because P's original contract included the possibility of him producing other artists. Some years back WB France was planning a Time boxset (no bonus material) and the legal department of WB USA said no. Reasons unspecified even to WB France.

All of The Time's albums were reissued in Japan last year, remastered too.

Glad to see Sheila's album being reissued, I think we'll get all albums reissued at some point. The estate will not pass up on the $$$.

I doubt Prince's estate has a say on Sheila's albums.

I have them, the first two sound great, Ice Cream Castles sounds better than the original cd but not as good as the first two. And Pandemonium always sounded good anyway so the reissue isn't that much of an improvement.

I was referring to the Paisley Park albums that reverted to NPG records smile

I'm not convinced that this is a legit release, but if it is, I'll get it. A great period for Prince.

The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

Thanks, I was wondering this too. Can you confirm if Data Bank still has the glitch at the 0:49 mark? I made a thread about it a little while ago: http://prince.org/msg/5/414986
