New York Post gives Joshua all the credit?

http://nypost.com/2015/08...-old-muse/

I hate that punk. It is the most disturbing phase of Prince's career for me and I have been there from the beginning. The most underseving overrated "muse" in Prince history - even more than Wendy and Lisa. Rather than age gracefully, Prince deided to propr himself up with young sychophants who he thinks will make him hip again. This is where stull liek the title track to Art Official Age comes from. For the first time, Prince trying too hard is actually embarassing and slightly erodes his creative credibility for me.

It is interesting that he admits that the was getting coffee to get that producer credt on the last albums - just as I suspected.

What is he trying too hard to accomplish exactly?

He isn't trying very hard to have a hit really. How much promotion did he do for AOA? How much has he done for Hitnrun? If anything, Prince isn't trying hard enough to have a hit. It's almost as if he doesn't care about that sort of thing any more.

Maybe, just maybe, Prince is actually happy with where he is, what he's doing and the music he's putting his name too.

For me, I don't care. I really like AOA, still playing it regularly and I really like what I've heard so far from Hitnrun. Very much looking forward to the 7th regardless of who's name is on the credits.

RIP sad

You say Prince is trying too hard to be hip again but going by the misspelling of words of "deided", "stull", "liek", "credt" in your post, it looks like you're not trying hard enough to spell.

^And "propr". And "underseving". And now that I'm here, I'd like to complain about people creating thread after thread about the same subject, namely Josh, Prince and the new album. (Lost of edits because I made a few spelling errors myself.

Are you not the same person who started a thread in June calling Art Official Age "quietly brilliant"?

Why don't you sober up and try again?

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

The best part of the Joshua interviews are that it is actually going to make some on the org's head explode and we can be done with them for good

IOW: There's no real info.

It spells just bad news to the actual music lover.

Try increasing your comprehension enough to realize that one has nothing to do with the other - and then ponder why you are so pitiful on my jock that you think you can quote something from months ago.

V10LETBLUES

I usually dislike most of his newer stuff but like all three of the new tracks he put out. So if the work is good, that's all that matters to me.

And as I have said before, at his age, it is nice to see he is encouraging and taking young people under his wing. Giving young people an opportunity is a beautiful thing.

When you bought the "Lovesexy" cassette in '88, or the SOTT Lp in '87, you knew you were in for something you never heard before.

Now, a new Album brings trepidation. For some of us, it's a question of how much it's gonna suck.

He should be taking his time crafting an album with musicians whom are his equals.

Not whipping off cd's in 90 days.

Can't wait to read the responses to this Tidal album based on what we've been told and the snippets we've sampled.

Enlisting limited youngsters like Josh and 3rdeyegirl shows Prince doing just the opposite of what you suggest. If he isn't going to get REAL and seasoned artists, I submit that going back to relying solely on the one person he trusts - Prince. Of course, that assumes he still trusts Prince. When I become a devoted lifelong fan in the 70s, this was the main reason - Prince was the single greatest self contained musical force on the planet. He was unrelenting and uncompromising. When you picked up an early Prince album, you knew that you were getting pure Prince - unfiltered, uncontaminated, and astounding raw genius. This is what made the old school original fans the most faithful and loyal. This is what kept us there through the 90s when the world wanted to write him off. When he went rogue and you had to work to keep up with the new releases and concerts through his distribution experiments, pseudo religious revelations, artistic detours, damn near top secret releases, and random dalliances with the internet. It was all Prince. Love it or not, it was that positive nuisance that he had always been. At the very least, it was always something interesting and daring - something on one else would ever even think of doing.

Can we - those of us who are old enough to have a true point of reference from experience - honestly say that this has not changed?

Have you changed over the last 35+ years? Hardly surprising that Prince has.

Only children and people who cant handle the complexity of the original post bother to post a retort simply to criticize spelling. I cant type but be assured I am more educated than you are and can spell all words I use. You see, all I have to do is remember to click the spell check button - there is no button to click for intellect.
