The Time 1980's Outtakes

Not something I have really tried delving into but think I should. Are there any Time outtakes floating around. Specifically from the 80's. i have the Corporate World album which is pretty awful. But I cant say i have seen anything related to the kickass period in the early 80's. Have I been blind or is it a barren wasteland?

The only songs that spring to mind are Bold Generation and Velvet Kitty Cat. I don't believe that either are in circulation, apart from a snippet of the latter.

U been bamboozled, hoodwinked, took.

Prince & the Time 1980-1984 and the further adventures of...

Throughout Prince's career, he has been involved with a succession of protégés and side-projects. This story envelop a fascinating insight into Prince's production and songwriting techniques. Many of the artists have become stars in their own right. Perhaps most famous and successful of all of this musical projects have been ... THE TIME.

I always thought this one was a Time outtake

.

Cold Coffee And Cocaine is an unreleased track recorded at some point in 1983 at Prince's Kiowa Trail Home Studio, Chanhassen, MN, USA, during a solo piano rehearsal by Prince (along with Mama). It is not known if a more complete studio version exists. It is not known if the track was intended for Purple Rain or any other project. The lyrics of the song are sung in Prince's "Jamie Starr" voice, suggesting that the track may have been intended for The Time. The narrator in the song is tired of his lover, because all she offers him are "cold coffee and cocaine". The track remains unreleased.

There is a 1982 demo of "Do Yourself A Favor" recorded by Prince. In an interview,Jesse Johnson said that Prince played this song for the Time members and wanted them to record their own version for one of the Time albums.
