Martika's Kitchen is kinda bangin.

Haven't really heard it for years, but it really does have great music on it. The organ is the shit. The songs are a bit corny and overtly commercial but the tunes really do make my ears happy. Remember when Prince could just write wonderful music all the time? Even on a lesser album. sigh.

All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

After 23 years it'a an album I always come back to regularly, and not just for the Prince tracks. It's light pop yeah, I happen to love light pop so it's OK in my book. There are very beautiful songs on it. A Magical Place, Couloured Kisses, Mi Tierra, Broken Heart... It's a record I grew up with (I was 15 when I got it back in late 91 or early 92) and that I'll cherish forever biggrin

I'm an old ass, like databank, so I'm really fond of everything Prince released back in 1991, when I was 14 years old. Trying to be "objective" though, I think 1991 was one of Prince's best years: he released a wonderful album of funk-pop, Diamonds And Pearls, where he's at his best songwriting wise; he released the Ingrid Chavez album, where he's at his best innovation wise; he released Martika's Kitchen; gave great songs to Paula Abdul, Joe Cocker and others; performed in an amazing tour; filmed excellent video-clips... Such a magnificent year!

Always loved this track, especially with Prince on vocals.

Loved his late-80s/early-90s more dance-influenced work headbang

Why he didn't include that shit on his own albums, IDK.

Maybe eye do, just not like eye did before pimp2
