Just got this through their official FACEBOOK page and feed on my page. They announced the cancellaion of the Australian tour citing "not being able to play without all the members" Susannah Melvoin Is no longer going to be an active touring member from the band and is taking an indefinite leave. Paul is quoted as saying MGMT has done everything to rectify the situation but he will not play dates without all members.

Anybody know what's up with Sussanah?

Minneapolis funk veterans fDeluxe, the band described by tastemaker Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson, as one go his favourite groups of all time, are sad to announce the cancellation of their first Australian tour.

Lead singer Susannah Melvoin, who was unable to make the group's most recent show in their hometown of Minnesota, has withdrawn from the tour and as such all dates have been cancelled.

"In my 33 year career I have never had to cancel an overseas gig, until now," says co-founder St Paul Peterson. "Our manager, Neil Richards, has done nothing but try to rectify the situation on our side but in good conscience I can't present fDeluxe without all of the members promised. After being welcomed with open arms in Europe last year we were very much looking forward to bringing the funk to Australia."

Susannah will no longer feature as part of the fDeluxe touring line up and is taking an indefinite hiatus from the group.

St. Paul Peterson, Eric Leeds and Jellybean Johnson will continue to perform as fDeluxe along with their world class backing band.

Well now, that is a bummer! It sucks they have had so many bumps on the road since reuniting. Just when you thought they had found the much-deserved comeback. I sure hope things improve for all members and they find success, health, and happiness again soon.

I wonder if there are bigger problems in the Fdeluxe organization (not that it's a huge 'organization'!). Several weeks ago, I ordered a couple of CDs from their site. I've ordered from them before with no problem, but this order was never confirmed and I haven't received it yet. They took the Paypal payment from me ok, but emails sent to them at the address provided by Paypal bounce back as an invalid address, email sent to the address on their site- as well as attempts to contact via Facebook and Twitter- have all gone unanswered. I finally had to initiate a dispute via Paypal in hopes of getting my money back.

Doesn't look good.

Probably just some personal shit that needs to be resovled. She mentioned a few times publicly that she's been having some financial issues that's been complicating her life. Sounds like she's just taking a time out to get mentally, emotionally, and financially back on track. Wish her well.

Paul did not cancel all upcoming gigs.

Well when they post something like this it doesn't look good:

Paul comes across a bit annoyed by it all. That's why I said "temp to perm hiatus" as their management said Susannah has taken an "indefinate leave" from the group, which could mean she's done done. I'm sure most would agree that without her that it's not really FDeluxe, so as far as I'm concerned, at the moment they are basically defunct. Hopefully I'm jumping to conclusions - time will tell.

I wanted to post a followup to my earlier post about unfulfilled merchandise orders from Fdeluxe's web site...

After many weeks of attempting to contact someone - anyone - via multiple routes (direct emails as well as social media), a Facebook message I sent on 9/22 was responded to by Neil on 9/30 saying he would look into it. I had already opened up a dispute with Paypal over the transaction by that point.

I have not heard anything furhter from Neil or anyone else with Fdeluxe about my order, and was just notified by Paypal that they have resolved the dispute in my favor and are issuing a full refund to me. It does not look like Paypal even got a response from Fdeluxe, so the case was found in my favor by default.

I wish them well, but I also would encourge eveyone to be careful purchasing any merch from them, until they have their business sorted out...

Thanks for the update. Glad you got your refund.

So with the O7 and FDeluxe failing there is something to be said. I dont know what but there's a message in here somewhere.
