One answer: Sweet and cute on the outside but rotten on the inside. She DEPENDS on men to take care of her EVERY want and need. She doesnt have any self worth so she clings to men to provide a shelter for her. P probably had to do with a little of her issues but some of those characteristics develop in childhood. Bratty, spoiled, etc. I feel sorry for her but she has to put her damn rescue pets down and fix her OWN life up.

I find it amazing that folks judge someone off what they say on a clearly scripted reality show. You peopl don't know this woman from Adam and for all we know, you all could be as rotten as you make her out to be.

Yes, she is on national television making a fool out of herself. Her comments are not private and in this life you are judged by people all the time. If you are not making a fool out of yourself you really should have no worries.

I find it interesting that you are more concerned about her being judged then the fact that she made statements that made it appear that her unborn child was merely a lost chance at a child support/alimony payment.

It was really a mean and thoughtless thing for her to say and sometimes I think people forget that was P's baby as well as hers.

When you agree to commercially exploit your life for a "reality tv show" for money and fame, then don't complain when people judge how you behave on said show. History has proven how producers edit and manipulate footage to exaggerate certain parts of a person's personality, good or bad. It's like the boxing analogy, "if you scared to get hit, don't step inside the ring".

You´re the second person in my life who thinks I smoke crack.

But....I don´t.

I kind of liked Mayte back in the early 90s and during the Gold Experience Tour but even back then I never understood why she was so important all of a sudden, and in fact, her being "important" was even mentioned in the Three Chains Of Gold video, or was it that other video that came out at that time? The one with the Egypt footage and Prince shaving in front of a mirror?

Over the years, I got used to her and found she added a lot to Prince´s tour at some times, and at other times I found her a bit cringeworthy (those Spanish comments during Get Wild and some of the Spanish intros were a cute idea at first but they make the songs sound a bit dated, not that they were that cool to begin with).

One the one hand I feel for her and think it´s very sad that she had to go through such tragedies at such a young age, and I didn´t like the nasty comments on the NPGMC site that were directed at her (about the nail polish and cheese etc. , those were in bad taste), or when Prince posted that he got caught sexxing in a movie theater while she was away. But then again, I also didn´t like how she came across during that VH1 special on Tommy Lee, where she was grilling a steak even though she claimed being a vegetarian not too long ago, and how vulgar she sounded when she was with Tommy Lee compared to how she behaved when she was with Prince.

I guess we will never really figure out what went on between the two of them, and I´m blaming neither Prince nor her.

She surely inspired him to write a lot of good songs, and she came across as a genuinely nice person back then, and she seems to like animals, so I can´t really dislike her, but those comments about not getting some of that "Purple Rain" money, or not getting child support sounded a bit too greedy for my taste.

I´d love to have a cup of coffee and a long conversation with her though, seriously. I think that would be fun.
