Susannah, D'Angelo, Sandra Bernhard, Chris Rock, St Paul at Carnegie Hall

ReverbNation Twitter Artist Website

"They invited some “legendary luminaries from Minnesota” (Questlove’s words, since he did almost all the talking onstage) — longtime Prince saxophonist Eric Leeds, bassist/singer Paul Peterson and Mint Condition frontman Stokley Williams — for “Mutiny,” a tune Prince penned for the Family, a 1985 side project that Peterson fronted. Suddenly, with these extra players, D’Angelo was transformed into a performer, not just an introverted keyboardist lost in his own groove. He clearly relished Leeds’ expressive sax (though he was startled when Leeds later played D’Angelo’s keys). Peterson contributed funky lead vocals and a classic Minneapolis Sound bass line..... D’Angelo was up dancing, shouting instructions to the band and getting buck wild — just like old times. " — Jon Bream, Star Tribune

"St. Paul Peterson and Susannah Melvoin of the Family, a mid-Eighties Prince act, joined for "High Fashion/Mutiny," off 1985's The Family – another cult favorite that the knowledgeable crowd ate up. Susannah (Wendy's twin sister, who dated Prince for many years) strutted around the stage in a white pantsuit, looking like she was having the time of her life. " — MICHAELANGELO MATOS, Rolling Stone

"A highlight of last night's tribute to Prince at Carnegie Hall was the funk medley by fDeluxe, featuring members of '80s project the Family, including the artist's regular sax player Eric Leeds and one-time fiancée Susannah Melvoin. " — Jonah Wolf, PaperMag

Whoa, looks like big line up!!

Lol, just imagining Prince sitting beside the power switch ready to flip it off if they start playing any of "his songs"...

City winery seems to be a very popular venue if late.

As far as I know, Prince can't do anything about them doing old Family songs live. I think they could only get into some problems if they tried to release a cd or dvd of a performance with his songs on there.

I think you will find they played city winery in march with the roots & friends and the Dakota last year sometime. By your reasoning they'll be booking themselves into The Myth next!!

Even if they didn't quote they sure are not taking it down either. Love the guys , but if u got a beef with somebody don't have the name anywhere on your press release
